The cacao lemonade caught me off guard&mdash;never thought cacao pulp could work in a drink like that. Nice to see a place actually trying something different with it.

Owner cooks and runs the place himself. Gringo cheeseburger was solid, really juicy. He also gave me some good tips about Quito. Worth stopping by if you&#39;re in the area.

The fanesca here was pretty solid. Got it during the season and the flavor was on point&mdash;lots of bacalao and the squash gave it that nice thickness. Portion ran a bit small for the price though. I&#39;d say it&#39;s worth stopping by if you&#39;re craving some traditional Easter soup but don&#39;t expect to leave stuffed.

Lovely little cafe with a garden and Mocca the labrador hanging around. Coffee was good but the portions are a bit small for what you pay. Owner did give useful tips for Quito though.

Stopped by for coffee and a quick bite. The place has that old Quito charm, you can feel the history. Coffee was really good, strong. Food was decent, pretty traditional. It&rsquo;s gotten more touristy and yeah, prices are higher than before. Still, for the experience, it&rsquo;s okay. Just don&rsquo;t expect a quiet local spot anymore.

Empanadas de viento were solid. Verde con queso even better. Place was packed but food came quick. Good spot if you&#39;re around.
