TheForkUserWe had an exceptional experience at this lovely restaurant in a very small village just outside of Stuttgart. Our hostess, the front room manager, and server for our table happened to be the wife of the chef and co-owner - Frau Ruggaber - of this amazing establishment. Each course was prepared exquisitely but not overdone, small portions beautifully arranged and uncompromisingly flavored - the array of spices, fresh vegetables, fresh fish ( three types!), and complimented with outstanding regional wine. The meal was perfectly paced, we were there for 4 hours, and left satisfied not over stuffed. The amuse bouche was three small servings of delightfully different tastes followed by our six course menu. Dessert was also 3 courses, small sweet bites each with fruit home made baked and ice cream. Highlights of dinner were the venison, fish, and seasonal vegetables. With the dessert course, servings totaled out at 12 plates! Our server was extremely patient and explained what each dish contained as well as where ingredients came from; for example the venison was from Southern Germany and all vegetables from nearby Farms. Although the restaurant has also been recognized and awarded for its outstanding Regional wine selection, We opted for a bottle of wine for the entire meal rather than different glass to accompany each course although that is an option and should be considered by oenophiles. (We just didn't want to overdo it on the wine and the choice we made was perfectly paired with all dishes thanks to guidance from F. Ruggaber.)
