The English breakfast was generous and delicious. Staff were kind and quick, which made for a really comfortable visit.

When I booked this, it escaped me that it was situated in the Café Royal Hotel. What a beautiful setting, on the balcony of the main reception to the hotel; and what history. Adorning the walls are memorabilia of days gone by and the rich and famous, who frequented the hotel. For instance, adjacent the dining area is an annexe that was home to the final performance of David Bowie as his alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. Elsewhere, there are pictures of Lulu, Mick Jagger and Lou Reed and many others. We chose to eat from the set menu and the food was superb. Service was swift without being rushed, and tables are well spaced so even when busy there is no feeling of being cramped, indeed quite intimate at our generous round (as many of them are) table. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant as a must see place, and we’ll be back too as it’s just too good for a one off visit. As a post matinee theatre dinner, this was perfect for us, a haven in an otherwise bustling area of London.

Had the full English breakfast here. Portions are generous for the price, and the staff were really welcoming. The bacon was cooked just right, not too crispy. A solid, classic breakfast spot.

A solid spot for a quick bite before a flight. The scones were good, tea was hot. Full breakfast and tea service available. Prices are fair. Convenient location made it a repeat stop for me.

Flat white's always on point. Kennedy's a legend, makes you feel right at home. Good spot to park up with the laptop for a bit. Quick, no fuss.

The ruby hot chocolate is lovely. The seats are comfy too, which makes for a relaxed visit.

Popped in for a cake and ended up staying for two. They're just so fresh and light, not overly sweet at all. That lemon drizzle slice was something else. The whole place has such a cosy, welcoming vibe, perfect for a quiet afternoon.

Love the vibe here for catching up with friends. The Italian-Korean fusion is a fun twist, and the coffee is really smooth.

A nice spot for a quiet lunch. The coffee is really good, and the food was fresh. It's a bit more expensive than other cafes on the street, but you can tell the ingredients are quality. My dog was welcome, which made the whole visit very relaxed.

Decent spot with generous portions. The lasagna was pretty good, and Halil is very welcoming. The jam rollie pollie was a nice touch.

Been coming here for years. The smoothies are consistently good, which is why I keep coming back.

The vegan naan wrap is the thing to get. The bread is fresh and soft, not dry at all. The spiced chickpea filling has a good kick to it, and the mint chutney cuts through it nicely. A solid choice if you're after something plant-based.

Nice spot for a catch-up with friends. Staff are quick and friendly, especially in the mornings.

Stopped in after a long walk for coffee and apple pie. The slice was generous, honestly bigger than I expected for the price. Good amount of cinnamon in the filling. The old-fashioned vibe was a nice touch.

The afternoon tea had a really nice selection of sandwiches and desserts. Our server Emma was so lovely to chat with, really made it feel special. Just a really pleasant, relaxed vibe.

Grabbed the lasagna for a quick lunch. Pasta layers were spot on, meat filling wasn't too heavy. Got my food in under 10 minutes, which is perfect for a short break. Portion was decent for the price.

Popped in for a casual afternoon tea with a friend. The scone was lovely and soft, and the price was really fair. Just wish the staff were a bit more smiley when we arrived. Still, a nice, simple spot for a catch-up.

The Mexican Benedict was fantastic. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see so many thoughtful plant-based options clearly marked on the menu.

The salmon and cheese on sourdough was a real find. The salmon was creamy, the bread perfectly crisp. A lovely little lunch spot in London.

Always get my flat white here, it's just right. The pastries are fresh too, I had a croissant that was perfectly flaky. My go-to spot for a proper coffee.

A lovely little spot in the gardens of Valentine's Mansion. Sat outside with my tea, which was just right. The homemade soup smelt amazing from the next table. It's all very peaceful here, a nice escape. The cakes looked incredible, had to resist!

I really appreciate being able to watch the coffee being roasted on-site. It gives you a real sense of the freshness and care that goes into each cup. You can tell they're passionate about their beans.

Been coming here for years. The pour-over is always spot on, smooth and full of flavour. Ended up grabbing a bag of their beans to take home this time.

Lovely little spot, feels warm and welcoming. The service was genuinely friendly without being overbearing. Food was tasty, my lamb tagine was spot on. Just a bit on the pricey side for the portion.

The jerk chicken is pretty good, flavourful and a decent portion. Good value for a weekday lunch.

The staff were so lovely and welcoming to us and our pup! 🐕 Perfect spot to stop after a walk on the Downs. We grabbed a coffee and a slice of cake, and they even brought a little water bowl for the dog. Really nice for a casual catch-up with friends.

Came here with a couple of friends for a late breakfast. We just missed the scones, which was a bit of a shame as we'd heard they were great. Still, the vibe was perfect for a catch-up, really relaxed.

Lovely spot in the village. The drive up is nice. Had the chicken sandwich and an iced coffee today – both were fresh and tasted good. Just a solid, simple lunch.

Ordered the prawn cocktail roll using the table QR code. Food came out in about 10 minutes, which was quick. The roll itself was tasty, but for the price, I did expect the portion to be a bit more generous.

The food here is pretty good, cooked to a high standard. The welcome from the staff was warm and the service was fine. A decent spot for a quiet meal.
