On October 6, 2026, our family of three visited Yangliuqing Ancient Town and the Shi Family Courtyard. During the National Day holiday, the ancient town and streets were filled with a vibrant atmosphere, with elements of Yangliuqing New Year paintings visible everywhere. A stroll along the canal was full of local life. The Shi Family Courtyard, known as the "Number One Residence in North China," features a series of Qing Dynasty courtyards with exquisite brick, wood, and stone carvings. The grand opera stage was particularly impressive. The electronic guide via QR code was very convenient, allowing children to directly experience the ancient architecture and folk culture of a northern grand residence. The ancient town streets were free, the pace was relaxed, and it wasn't tiring. The fried sesame seed cakes were delicious with a crispy layer, and the pear syrup tasted just like it did when I was a child. It was perfect for a half-day family trip. The number of visitors during the National Day holiday was manageable, and the overall experience was good—a short trip that combined relaxation and educational value.
