Wow! What can we say about Vomo that’s not been said before? The island itself is breathtakingly beautiful - stunning beaches (on both sides so you can always dodge the trade-winds!), picture-postcard sunsets, and some of the best snorkelling we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. Oh, and fruit bats! The fruit bats are awesome. There was something magical about watching them swoop through the mango trees at dusk each day. We were already convinced that Fiji is one of the most beautiful places in the world. But Vomo might just be the most beautiful place in Fiji. The accommodation and amenities are genuinely five-star - the whole resort is extremely well maintained and gives off a stylish “boutique hotel’ vibe, and our two-bedroom villa felt very luxurious…those full length sliding doors overlooking the Mamanuca beach are something else! The food and drinks are consistently excellent - the Lovo feast following the weekly Meke was a highlight, but every meal-time was a treat and we were particularly impressed by the variety and quality of the kids menus. We’ve probably put on about a stone each in the time we’ve been here! The daily activities, both complimentary and paid, are superb. Sundowner cocktails and a DJ at the pop-up “mamanuca beach club”, complimentary henna tattoos at the Boutique, fantastic massages at the Spa, live music every night at the Vuda bar, and of course the weekly Fiji night. We also tried the “vapour jets” which were great fun and highly recommended. And we we will remember snorkelling with the reef sharks at White Rock for a very long time. But most important of all, the staff are wonderful. Quite how they remember every guest’s name is a mystery to us, but somehow they do - we were greeted by name along with a big “Bula” practically everywhere we went, the whole week. We have to give a particular shout-out to Zenty, who took excellent care of us throughout our stay. But the whole Vomo team is fantastic, from the kids club to the spa to the guys at Ocean Play. It’s a very long way from the UK to Fiji, but a place like this makes it totally worth the effort. Vinaka vakalevu to everyone at Vomo, and we hope to be back one day!

Vomo We decided on Vomo island for our babymoon. As soon as we stepped off the speedboat transfer we realised It was the best decision we ever made. We were lucky enough to stay in a beach front villa, the staff had pre empted a very well located bure in close walking distance to all the main amenities. The room was freshly renovated with a king bed, excellent air con, gorgeous bathroom, free standing bath that we were able to enjoy on the 1 cloudy day in our 7 day stay, walk in robe, Nespresso coffee machine, beautiful tea options and daily refreshed non alcoholic mini bar. The ocean literally steps away, white sand and turquoise ocean which felt practically private with the spaced out day lounges and swimmable ocean almost the whole way around the island. Another plus being the amazing and easily accessible reef for snorkeling just a short swim straight out from the bure. We dined in the morning for breakfast with our feet in the sand on a beachfront table. Highly recommend after pigging out on the beautiful extensive breakfast menu, heading into the cold room to have a made to order yogurt bowl. I also got a lot of excitement out of ordering the daily changing juice alongside my barista coffee. On low tide we made our way to the adults only rocks bar and pool, which was equally impressive. We enjoyed lunch there most days. Highly recommend the Kokoda and daily sushi. My husband enjoyed playing around the cocktail menu- nothing ever too hard, he enjoyed a spicy mango daiquiri that we must note was EXCELLENT. For dinners we alternated between the 2 restaurants on the island with the different themed nights. Ko Viti night was definitely one of the highlights, it’s a Fiji’s culture night where they sing and dance explaining stories and bring out traditional lovo style platters of food. YUM At vomo although the island is a true paradise, I have to say it’s the staff that make this truly magic. We cried our eyes out as they sang isa lei (goodbye song). Turns out 6 nights wasn’t enough, and we look forward to booking again in the future, returning with our baby. (Great nanny and kids club amenities too) Thank you Vomo for the incredible and unforgettable experience for our last holiday as a couple. I cannot praise it enough. If you are looking for somewhere to have a babymoon look no further. This island has it all.

A belated review of our sixth visit to VOMO in anticipation for our next trip in a few months time. VOMO is truly the most beautiful place you can imagine, it feels like paradise. We took boat transfers both ways which were easy and I especially recommend the boat to VOMO as you get the most spectacular views of the island as you arrive. The staff are what makes VOMO truly special, many have worked there for years so it’s lovely when they welcome you ‘home’. The food is outstanding and my husband who is coeliac felt well looked after by the Food and Beverage Manager and all staff. Sunset drinks at the Adults Only Rocks Bar is a must, it’s a beautiful setting. There is plenty to do at VOMO - snorkelling off the beach is amazing, a trek up Mount VOMO just stunning and the spa is very relaxing. My son is now older but still loved night games at Kids Village and hanging out with Benji and Charles who kept him occupied. He especially loved kayaking and finding confidence doing new and adventurous things. We also enjoyed attending the weekly church service with the beautiful singing from the Fijian voices. Thank you VOMO for another incredible stay. We look forward to returning very soon ❤️

Vomo was outstanding. The people and the staff where incredible. Koli is an exceptional butler who looked after us incredibly well. He is an absolutely fantastic young man who made our holiday. Lemeki was also very very good and so attentive. Chef Ana is also the best.

We recently stayed at VOMO as a family with a young child and came away with mixed feelings. The island itself is stunning, and there is a lot to like about the resort. However, at this price point, the experience needs to be consistently excellent, and unfortunately that wasn't our experience. Pros 1. Beautiful island and accommodation – Our villa was spacious, comfortable and enjoyed lovely ocean views with a constant sea breeze. It was a wonderful place to relax. 2. Warm, genuine staff – Every member of the team we encountered was friendly, welcoming and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. Fiji's hospitality remains one of the country's greatest strengths. 3. Thoughtful arrival – We appreciated the welcome platter of cheeses, sandwiches and fresh fruit waiting in our villa after travelling. 4. Kids' Club – Our toddler enjoyed the activities, and the nannies were caring, engaging and wonderful with children. 5. Food concept – The culinary direction is promising. The menus are creative, varied and read exceptionally well, showing real ambition. Cons Pre-arrival communication The pre-arrival process was surprisingly disorganised, with the same information requested multiple times. Emails frequently answered only some of our questions while ignoring others, and our enquiries about arranging nanny services went unanswered. A scanned payment confirmation sent to us was that of anther customer. Food execution While the menus were impressive, the execution often failed to match the concept. The food wasn't poor, but it rarely lived up to the expectations created by the menu or the resort's luxury positioning. To illustrate the point, a rare seared tuna dish turned out to be a very overcooked piece of tuna. Service consistency This was our biggest disappointment. The staff were unfailingly warm and friendly, but there were too many operational lapses for a resort of this calibre. During our first nine meals, every single one contained some sort of service error—missing dishes, incorrect orders or forgotten items. Eventually we stopped counting. One of the joys of Fiji is the relaxed nature of its people, and we would never want that warmth to disappear. However, luxury service also requires urgency when mistakes occur. Whether it was correcting an incorrect meal or responding to a request to sweep broken glass from our deck, there simply wasn't the sense of promptness expected at this level. Housekeeping Housekeeping was inconsistent throughout our stay. The complimentary minibar was replenished intermittently but never restored to its original standard. Dirty glasses were regularly left behind despite being clearly set aside for collection. Our water and wine glasses were never washed or replaced with clean ones during the entire 6 day duration of our stay. The most concerning incident occurred after we left used wine glasses on the patio expecting they would be removed during turndown service. They remained overnight, and one w

An unforgettable holiday that we'll talk about for years to come! Our family isn't really a sit by the pool or lie on the beach type of family - although the one day we did do this was beautiful and very relaxing. We loved the complimentary daily snorkel trip. There is stunning coral right off the beach, but it was great to see different areas with really friendly and knowledgeable guides. We did a private tour to White Rock and another spot that I can't remember the name of and we'll never forget that. A seamless experience and soooo many fish and small reef sharks. Very cool! The accommodation and facilities are lovely. The staff are an absolute delight! Possibly the biggest surprise was the food. I wouldn't have thought Fiji was a destination known for food, however it was amazing. Lunch and dinner menus changed every day. The French inspired menu at The Rocks was divine!

I genuinely don’t understand the overwhelmingly positive reviews of VOMO Island. I remain perplexed because several guests we spoke to also admitted that the food and gym were well below par—yet they had returned for another stay. Based on our experience, this simply isn’t a five-star resort. At best, it is a three-star property charging five-star prices. When compared with genuine luxury resorts in New York, the Greek Islands or even Australia, VOMO’s “all-inclusive” pricing represents very poor value for money. The reality is that the food was so disappointing we didn’t even want to eat one meal there, let alone three every day. The island itself is beautiful, and the Fijian staff are genuinely warm and friendly. However, we often felt there was an element of what I would describe as “kindness washing” or perky incompetence —the warmth of the staff makes guests feel reluctant to complain because everyone is so pleasant. Unfortunately, friendliness alone does not create a luxury experience. Five-star resorts require consistently exceptional food, attentive service, meticulous attention to detail and visible leadership. Those qualities were missing throughout our stay. The food was by far our biggest disappointment and was remarkably inconsistent. On our first night, the Caprese salad was minuscule (one slice of cherry tomato snd a small herb) and inexplicably contained no mozzarella whatsoever. The fish we ordered tasted reheated and it probably was. Breakfast the following morning was similarly disappointing and featured cold, soggy avocado toast, no fresh fruit at the buffet, and we had to ask repeatedly for coffee and juice. All there is to eat are various cakes and pastries. Not good if you want to eat a nutritious breakfast. At The Rocks, the adults-only restaurant, the tuna sashimi was clearly off and completely inedible, while the Vietnamese salad was devoid of flavour despite the abundance of fresh herbs and produce available in Fiji. The daily sushi was also horrible. We spat it out. The chef had no answer when we remarked to him that clearly this isn’t fresh food. He seemed to know it wasn’t any good, which is such a shame to think a chef is knowingly sending out dodgy food. One dinner—the Fijian buffet—was enjoyable, but it was the exception rather than the rule. Most meals were average at best and far below what should be expected at a premium resort. The menus relied heavily on rich, creamy sauces. We kept asking ourselves: where were the fresh seafood dishes, vibrant salads and lighter tropical cuisine that should be the hallmark of a Fijian island resort? By our final evening, we found ourselves looking enviously at the children’s menu because a simple grilled chicken breast with rice was more appealing than the adult offerings. Eventually I stopped going to breakfast altogether and couldn’t get excited about lunch. Most afternoons I became so hungry that I raided the minibar for packets of chips and biscuits simply to get t

We had an amazing stay at Vomo Fiji and can’t recommend it highly enough. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, delicious, and with a great variety. We loved that the menu changed every day, making every meal something to look forward to. The service was exceptional. Every staff member was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive. We were amazed that they remembered our name from first day and even our favourite drinks and food preferences. Those personal touches made us feel truly at home. If you’re interested in water activities, I recommend booking directly with the Beach Play Office. It’s more efficient, and they offer a fantastic range of activities. Be sure not to miss the White Rock snorkelling and the manta ray snorkelling—both were absolute highlights and well worth the trip. A special thank you to Albert. His genuine hospitality and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. He made us feel like family, and his kindness was the highlight of our trip. Thank you to the entire Vomo Fiji team for such a wonderful experience. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I enjoyed 9 fabulous nights at Vomo. Our room was fabulous; comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, lots of storage, and a wonderful deck to relax on. Air conditioning worked well. It was appreciated to have a family restaurant and an adults-only restaurant. Food was good and enjoyed desserts. I am an avid snorkeler, and the snorkeling was excellent right from the beach. We did the island picnic which was a bit disappointing as it was very windy so there was nothing to do and the food was just okay. The staff is outstanding and very attentive. Easy access from Nadi. We recommend Vomo for a true Fijian experience.
