Mari Queen Hotel - Bui Thi Xuan

There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and it's about a 10-minute walk from Pham Ngu Lao Street. There's also a big supermarket a few hundred meters away, so the location is pretty decent. The room was a bit small and had a slight musty smell. What was even more annoying was that they didn't clean my room the next day while I was out. When I asked a staff member, he said the cleaning lady only starts in the afternoon. Good thing I was only staying for two days, otherwise, how much trash would have accumulated in the room? The front desk staff, especially the guy, had a really good attitude though. Having only one trash can in the room is definitely not enough and needs improvement. The pleasant surprise was that the room had power outlets that are the same as in China, so I didn't need to use an adapter. I brought one but didn't end up needing it.

Spiderwebs in the ceiling corners! Poor soundproofing, and the room had a stale, damp smell. There were ants on furniture against the wall like the nightstand and wardrobe. No ventilation, and the sheets had old bloodstains that weren't properly cleaned... Honestly, it was just awful. The only redeeming factor was the slightly better attitude of the front desk guy; I can't find any reason why this place should cost 155 yuan!

The front desk staff were very friendly and their English communication was good. They also had excellent service awareness. The hotel's location is decent, within walking distance to attractions. Balcony rooms can be quite noisy, but non-balcony rooms are relatively quiet. Overall, it's a good value-for-money, standard hotel.
