Mercer Madrid - New Opening

Loved it. perfect design and breakfast was incredible. Minimalist but best in class.

We stayed for a weekend, 9–11 October 2026. In room 110, there was visible black mold on the bathroom ceiling around the shower. After we reported it, the hotel first said it was full, then moved us to room 308, where there was a noticeable sewage smell, even less strong than the "full of mold" 110 room. The hotel offered a 20% reduction, then made it conditional on signing a written mutual-resolution of the complaint! I declined. The conditions in both rooms and the way the complaint was handled were unacceptable. I would not stay here again.

Checked into the hotel today and currently pretty underwhelmed. Arrived at 1400 - the room wasn't ready so went for lunch - no problem but they asked for my phone number as they were going to call me as soon as the room was ready, Had a nice lunch close by (the check in staff couldn't actually recommend a restaurant within 5 minutes' walk from the hotel despite being in the Retiro area of Madrid - mind blowing given the multiple options close by) thanks to 3 minutes of Google work, No phone call or text despite them requesting our number so they could let us know when the room was ready. Returned at 1530 to be told the room was ready which is great so was expecting them to give us the key to the room and we would go straight to the room - but no there was a strange interaction where we waited a number of minutes and then we were going to go to the room with a member of staff but not before we needed to do a tour of the spa - *** we were tired after the journey and starting to get annoyed ?? Got to the room (a suite) which is nice and then tried to log on to the internet using the password on the keycard - but of course that didnt work so called to reception (was tired and didnt really want to have to do that) to get the updated password that wasn't shown on the keycard. OK got the NEW and updated password - success !! Then a few hours later the turn down guys showed up - they were nice. We said we didnt need turndown we just needed some water - which of course they didnt have. Fear not they said we will be back with water. Anyway we never got the water. If we weren't paying USD 900 a night for the room all of this would be an irelevance but sadly we are paying that much a night. Everyone we have dealt with has been quite lovely but completely ineffectual Hey we are in room 406 if you can please bring us some agua por favor

Great Boutique Hotel in fantastic safe location. The staff are amazing 10/10 and the interior of the hotel is beautiful. I truly recommend to stay here if in Madrid

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. The location, design, amenities and cleanliness were top tier and, above all, the staff treats you like a close and personal friend. This will be my hotel of choice in Madrid for the forseeable future.

We've stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years, often travelling with our teenage children, and the Mercer is right at the very top of the list. The location is the best we've come across — far superior to other hotels of the same standing. The service was outstanding from start to finish — attentive, warm, and genuinely happy to help with anything we needed. The rooms are beautifully decorated, elegant and comfortable in equal measure, and the spa was a real highlight; a perfect way to unwind. It's rare to find a hotel that gets every detail right, but the Mercer managed it. We can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return.
