Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba

Excellent location in Minato Ward with great views and beautiful scenery. The hotel design is stunning, very old-money style and spacious. Room facilities are top-notch. Breakfast options are limited but the taste is decent.

The Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba is clean, comfortable, and offers exceptional value. Firstly, the spacious 33-square-meter Grand Floor Superior Twin room felt quite luxurious for Japan. From the bedding to the room layout, everything was exquisite. Toiletries, mineral water, coffee, and tea bags were all provided. The lighting was bright, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning views of Tokyo Bay. Secondly, the breakfast was abundant. The first and second floors offer buffet-style options (American and Japanese cuisine), while the 30th floor serves a sushi set meal. You can choose any of them; the dining areas are spacious, and the food is delicious and high-quality. Thirdly, Odaiba itself is worth exploring. Odaiba Marine Park and Fuji TV are within walking distance. A promenade directly connects the hotel to two large shopping malls, making shopping and dining very convenient. Fourthly, Odaiba Station is just a two-minute walk from the hotel. It's only about a 30-minute subway ride to Ginza. You can transfer to various subway lines at Shimbashi. Haneda Airport is particularly convenient, just 10 kilometers away. Fifthly, the service was meticulous and thoughtful. The front desk staff were warm and enthusiastic, and our luggage was delivered to our room. They even provided an electronic luggage scale. One minor drawback is that the hotel's pool is outdoors and can only be enjoyed in the height of summer. Also, there aren't any unique Japanese convenience stores nearby. The only regret is that as a JAL Hotels member, I didn't seem to receive any special benefits.

This hotel is conveniently located in Odaiba, making it super easy to get to from Haneda Airport with a direct bus service. There are two shopping centers nearby and plenty of dining options. Plus, with two subway lines close by, it's a breeze to get to places like Ginza and Shinjuku.

The room was spacious and perfect for a family of three. There are several shopping malls nearby, and convenience stores and restaurants are all easily accessible. The hotel lobby is just a one-minute walk from the Seagull Line subway, making getting around very convenient.

I booked a standard room below the 20th floor and requested a higher floor with a view of the Statue of Liberty. When I checked in, I spoke to the front desk, and they told me that for the price I paid, I'd only get a tiny glimpse of the Statue of Liberty, even on the 18th floor. To get a direct view from a higher floor (20+), I'd have to pay extra. I decided to take a gamble and stick with my original booking, and it turned out great! The money I saved was enough to cover breakfast at the hotel every day, which was a nice bonus. There are three breakfast options: the garden restaurant on the first floor, the café on the second floor, and a sushi set on the 30th floor. The first and second-floor menus are identical, but the first floor is larger. I tried the sushi once on the 30th floor, but it was just okay; the fish slices were quite thin, and I could get better sushi for the same price at other places. There are several shopping malls nearby, all accessible directly from the hotel lobby (on the second floor) via connecting skywalks. You can also directly access the Yurikamome subway line. The terminal station is Shimbashi, which is about a 20-30 minute ride from the hotel. From Shimbashi, it's about a 1km walk to Ginza, or one stop on the Ginza subway line, or a 700 yen taxi ride. The transportation is very convenient. I also participated in a Tokyo Bay cruise afternoon tea activity nearby; it was just a three-stop train ride from the hotel to Hinode Station, and the Symphony cruise ship pier was right outside the station.

Great location, very convenient for getting around and shopping, with a beautiful environment. The hotel service is excellent, and the food is delicious. It's definitely my first choice when staying in Tokyo. It would have been even more convenient if the Lawson in front of the hotel hadn't closed down.

Aside from being a bit pricey and having a fixed breakfast menu, there are no downsides. I've already booked this hotel again for my solo trip next week!

During this trip, I experienced two different room types at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba: a regular Executive Room and a Premier Rainbow Bridge side room. The Executive room allowed for a separate, convenient check-in area. The afternoon tea and dinner were quite simple but sufficient to tie me over. I later found out that the Fujiya peach soda in the lounge is a popular, hard-to-find drink. I really enjoyed it and recommend everyone try it. Regarding the size, facilities, and view of the rooms, the Rainbow Bridge side is significantly better. The room is larger, the bed is bigger, and the desk is spacious, perfect for working or doing makeup. It feels like every design detail was thoughtfully considered, and the hotel is very well-maintained, new, and clean – excellent! The location is convenient for taking the bus to the airport. Getting to Disneyland requires a few transfers, but a taxi takes only 20 minutes, which is quite fast. There are also many shopping malls nearby, but I couldn't find the supermarket that others mentioned in the reviews downstairs; I found the supermarket quite far. If you plan to have a late-night snack, I recommend buying it in advance. Overall, it's still very good. The location, value for money, and all other aspects are excellent. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.
