Sapporo Prince Hotel

Includes an executive lounge, spacious rooms, and great service. The location is a bit of a walk if you want to go to Tanukikoji. There is a direct airport limousine bus, but the Sapporo airport bus makes too many stops; since this hotel is the second-to-last stop on the route, expect it to take about an hour and a half to get there.

We stayed at the hotel for three days and our bath and hand towels were never changed. I went to the front desk to request new ones, and they repeatedly emphasized that the hotel's policy was to clean rooms every three days. I insisted that while we didn't need the room cleaned, we did need fresh bath and hand towels and bottled water daily, as we hadn't been able to shower for two days. I also pointed out that as a self-proclaimed five-star hotel, they should provide these basic services. This was by far the worst hotel experience we had during our trip to Hokkaido, Japan.

This is definitely a star hotel in Sapporo, a favorite among those who appreciate old-money elegance. The 360° bar and restaurant on the top floor offer panoramic views of Sapporo. The unique cylindrical design of the building makes the rooms on each floor stand out like a honeycomb. Breakfast, as always, was excellent; that day, it was all-you-can-eat sweet shrimp and scallops. Plus, there's a free shuttle service to Sapporo Station.

This hotel is simply perfect – clean, convenient, and every corner is filled with a fresh, gentle fragrance. The background music creates a sense of peace and subtle joy; the ambiance is truly exceptional! 👍👍 The room had plenty of hangers, and the air conditioning was quiet and responsive. The laundry room and ice machine were also very clean and easy to use. Both my child and I found the bedding incredibly comfortable, and the light switches were simple and convenient. Everything felt thoughtfully designed for guests – so appreciative! 💋💋 There's a FamilyMart downstairs and a Lawson right outside. Within a 5-10 minute walk (in different directions) you can find a 30-year-old subway station, coffee shops, and bakeries. The hot springs and breakfast cost extra, but they are absolutely worth it. The airport shuttle bus goes directly to the hotel, though the journey can be quite long (2.5 hours during evening rush hour). The hotel also provides a shuttle service to the JR station. Susukino is about a 20-minute walk away.

The hotel is a bit old but very well-maintained. The rooms are quite spacious for a Japanese hotel and very clean. The staff are also excellent and very polite. Plus, the hotel's location is super convenient, being very close to Tanukikoji Shopping Street, and there's even a Hokkaido goods store on the first floor. This will definitely be my first choice when I visit Sapporo again.

Compared to hotels in China, Japanese hotel rooms are generally simpler and smaller. This can be a bit disappointing, but it's to be expected. The location is excellent and very convenient. The hygiene and overall environment are also good.
