MGM Grand Sanya

We booked a family suite, which was very large and spacious. For an older hotel, the hardware was acceptable (though some things like the balcony light wouldn't turn off, the electric curtains didn't work, and some room light switches were faulty) 😂. However, the unbeatable sea view was incredibly therapeutic! For the best sea views in China, Yalong Bay is definitely the place, though it depends on the weather. In the afternoon, even phone photos of the sea look like a jelly ocean. You could sit on a lounge chair and zone out all afternoon. If you're with kids, there are daily activities available, some free and some paid, so you can check the schedule. (For sea fishing, if you get seasick, I'd seriously reconsider.) Personally, I felt the activities were more suitable for younger children; our fifth grader wasn't too interested. His favorite thing was playing in the water. After 4 PM, it's not too sunny, and you can play for a long time. However, the beach has become much coarser. When we came a few years ago, it was soft, but this year it really hurt our feet. The waves were quite strong during our stay, which made swimming in the sea exhilarating. We tried the hotel's popular bubble tea – it was good even with regular ice and no sugar! Though the price was indeed a bit high. It was decent overall. The photographer from Platinum Photography, a partner of the hotel, was incredibly patient and excellent. They took many beautiful photos, and you could even borrow their dresses. Although it's all post-processed uniformly, it still looked quite natural. From booking to shooting to selecting photos, everything was very smooth, with no excessive upselling, purely based on personal preference. (Photos are at the end) The WeChat butler, 'Yue Lai Yue Hao' (Getting Better and Better), was very responsive and provided incredibly thoughtful service! Definitely worth a good review!! Looking forward to visiting again.

After many years, I'm back in Sanya. I've stayed at several hotels in the area before, but this is my first time at MGM, and it's quite unique with lots of family-friendly activities. This trip, I spent the first three days at Atlantis and the latter three at MGM. Compared to Haitang Bay, Yalong Bay's overall environment is indeed a bit older, but the service is excellent. A dedicated staff member followed up throughout our stay, meeting every request! The hotel is very close to the beach, and the water is clear. At Haitang Bay hotels, you have to walk quite a distance to the beach. I'd definitely consider MGM again next time!

The beach was great and the water was crystal clear. The staff contacted us early to make all the arrangements, and they handled most of our requests very well. It's a shame we could only stay one night as there were no rooms available to extend our stay. The pool was very clean, and the lifeguard was incredibly responsible. There was even a party in the evening! I hope to stay for a few more days if I get the chance again!

Two days before check-in, a butler called and messaged me on WeChat to discuss my needs. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I could feel the excellent service. When our taxi pulled up, a staff member immediately helped with our luggage, and I went straight to check-in while they delivered our bags to the room. We booked a Premier Seaview Room for the first night, which was on the 7th floor with a great view. For the extended stay, Premier Seaview was unavailable, so we booked two nights in a Family Room. A staff member also handled the room change and luggage transfer. Our butler, 'Yue Lai Yue Hao' (Getting Better and Better), was always quick and proactive in responding to our requests. The room facilities weren't old-fashioned as some online reviews suggested; they were spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The lion-themed bedding in the Family Room was also brand new, and the remote-control car actually worked, which my 10-year-old still enjoyed playing with! Among the hotel's kids' activities, my child loved the fluorescent wave party and the kids' club the most, even making new friends there. The plaster doll making and pet parade activities felt a bit perfunctory. For the plaster dolls, you had to mix water and plaster powder yourself and pour it into very, very tiny molds before you could even paint them. At the Angora rabbit interaction area, we paid 78 yuan to feed the rabbits and dress them up, but the rabbits didn't seem well-cared for. Several had tangled fur with dead knots that hadn't been brushed or shaved off. The female staff member there was also quite rough with the rabbits, not seeming to be an animal lover. Any pet owner would find it heartbreaking! The hotel's public areas are beautiful and grand. You can walk through them directly to the beach, and I was so happy to enjoy MGM milk tea every day from the shop on the first floor of Building 2, where we stayed! My child was extremely satisfied and said they want to stay here again next time we come to Sanya.

This stay exceeded my expectations! The hotel environment is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is very relaxing. It was peak season with a full house and a constant stream of tourists, but the service was consistently on point throughout our stay – prompt and friendly. It’s particularly commendable that the standards didn't drop despite the crowds. The beach is right outside, with plenty of sunshine, perfect for a walk along the shore with the sea breeze or a swim in the ocean. The biggest surprise was the hotel's own petting zoo; with a wide variety of animals, my child had an absolute blast and was fully engaged the entire time. It's truly ideal for a family vacation, and overall, highly recommended. We'll definitely choose this hotel again if we have the chance. Awesome!

Our expectations were incredibly high before checking in, and the hotel absolutely delivered! The check-in process was super efficient and quick, with no long waits at all. We stayed in a full sea-view room, which offered breathtaking views. The staff were attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay, always looking out for families with children. The hotel has numerous pools, open until 10 PM, and the resort's recreational facilities are fantastic. Our child absolutely loved the zipline, and the evening firefly party created such a magical and unique atmosphere. We had a full day of fun and excitement – this is truly a hidden gem for families. Highly recommend!

The experience at MGM Grand Sanya Yalong Bay exceeded my expectations! It boasts a prime, private beachfront location in Yalong Bay, with direct access to the clear, swimmable ocean just steps away from the hotel. The room type was spacious and airy, offering breathtaking ocean views from the balcony. The room amenities were complete, and the toiletries were well-stocked. The hotel offers an incredible array of activities; the popular surf simulator is a must-try, even for beginners. There's also a massive swimming pool, a bubble water park, and a kids' club, making it perfect for family trips.

This was the most stress-free stop on our family trip. The hotel had a packed schedule of daily activities – a mini-train, interactions with adorable pets, and evening crab catching – keeping the kids entertained all day long. The beach was gently sloped, making water play feel relatively safe. Breakfast ended late, so there was no need to rush in the morning, which perfectly suited our relaxed schedule with the little one. Any issues we encountered were swiftly handled by our dedicated butler, saving us a lot of hassle. It truly felt like a relaxing family vacation. Finally, a big thank you to our butler; I hope things continue to improve!
