I had a fantastic 2-night stay here. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
What truly made the stay special was the owners' hospitality. They always made sure I was comfortable and went above and beyond to help. Since I planned to hike from Panlongshan to Jinshanling, I contacted them in advance to ask if I could borrow hiking poles—they kindly arranged this for me. On the day of my hike, the lady boss even gave me a raincoat because it was drizzling. The owner also gave me good advice on how to navigate the hike.
The communication from the very beginning was excellent. They were very punctual to pick me up on my arrival day, and their responses via *********** and WeChat were always prompt. It was also a huge bonus that the owner speaks good English, which made everything much easier.
Location-wise, the hotel is just a 5-minute walk to the Jinshanling car park, though it is still about a 2 km walk from there to the actual entrance of the wall. The owner can help arrange transport for a few, or you can take the Baidu cart from the car park entrance during normal operating hours, which is very convenient.
Meals at the hotel were basic but nice and comforting after a long day outdoors.
Overall, a very good stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Great Wall—especially hikers!
