Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou

The Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou was built to commemorate the great revolutionary Sun Yat-Sen. It has witnessed many significant historical events in Guangzhou and holds great commemorative value. Today, it serves as an important venue for large gatherings and performances in the city. It is located at the southern foot of Yuexiu Park, with construction starting in 1928 and completing in 1931. The memorial hall is easily accessible by subway - just take Line 2 and get off at Memorial Hall Station. After entering the main gate, you'll find a square where you can see the towering and majestic...Sun Yat-senStatues where you can take photos. Further ahead is the main attraction building with a ticket office nearby.

The building is a magnificent octagonal palace-style structure rich in traditional Chinese characteristics. At its center hangs a large golden lacquered plaque with a blue background and red border, inscribed with four powerful characters—"The World Belongs to All"—written by Sun Yat-sen. The main structure houses a grand performance hall, which now hosts many concerts. The walls are adorned with numerous pictures and texts detailing the construction of the memorial hall and an introduction to Sun Yat-sen. Behind the memorial hall, there is a separate small room—the Sun Yat-sen Historical Exhibition Hall.

Besides these, there are some other plants worth seeing, such as the kapok trees and white champaca trees of Guangzhou. In the northeast corner of the Memorial Hall, there's also a peculiar tree known as the "tree embracing tree," which formed naturally without grafting.
