The room size was excellent; it wasn't cramped for two people! We could easily open two or three 28-inch suitcases.
The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and all the toiletries were L'Occitane. The shower pressure was also great~
The complimentary bottled water in the room came in aluminum bottles.
The executive lounge also offered afternoon tea 🫖, and after 5 PM, it was happy hour with unlimited alcoholic beverages 🍹👍
We stayed at Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo and while the hotel itself has potential, our overall experience was let down by several issues around check-in and communication.
Check-in: We arrived at 5pm — two hours after the official 3pm check-in time — yet still had to wait around 30 minutes in the lobby while staff sorted out our rooms. The lobby was packed at the time, and we ended up waiting until everyone else who had arrived alongside us had already been checked in and left for their rooms. When we asked what the holdup was, staff vaguely mentioned something about a strong perfume smell in the room, but offered no further explanation or resolution.
Delays didn't end at check-in: Despite already knowing we had booked connecting rooms, our luggage still arrived late, and on top of that, we had to call someone back to open the connecting door between our rooms ourselves. Given we'd already waited 30 minutes at the lobby and staff were aware of our booking details in advance, these additional delays felt like they should have been anticipated and sorted out before we even reached the room — not left for us to chase up afterward.
Lack of facility information: We were never informed about the hotel's facilities — most notably, the free Disneyland shuttle service. We only discovered this after already arranging and paying for separate transport to and from Disneyland ourselves. Other hotels we've stayed at proactively share this kind of information at check-in specifically so guests can plan accordingly; not being told meant we spent money unnecessarily and only found out after the fact.
Overall: Given the price we paid, the accommodation and service fell short of expectations. The repeated delays — at check-in, with our luggage, and with accessing our connecting rooms — combined with the lack of communication about available facilities, left us feeling that guest experience wasn't prioritized during our stay.
