It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1997 and is also known as the "Turtle City." The Pingyao Ancient City Wall was rebuilt in the third year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty. It is 6,163 meters long, with 3,000 crenellations and 72 watchtowers, symbolizing Confucius's 3,000 disciples and 72 sages. Climbing the wall offers a panoramic view of the entire ancient city. Rishengchang Exchange House, China's first private exchange house, is hailed as the "rural grandfather of modern banking," fully showcasing the financial legend of Shanxi merchants' "universal remittance."
