Zhenguo Temple Highlights: Must-See Features and Attractions
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Located in Pingyao County, Zhenguo Temple is one of the oldest wooden structures in China. The area of Zhenguo Temple is not large. Its important building is the main hall on the central axis. It is also called the Wanfo Hall. The overall frame of the hall is tightly structured and exquisitely crafted. It preserves the wooden structures of the Five Dynasties a thousand years ago; in the Wanfo Hall, the statues of the millennium are still colorful, and are the finest in ancient sculpture art. In the Sanfo Hall behind the Wanfo Hall, the walls are filled with murals of Buddhist stories of the Ming Dynasty, which are delicate and vivid.

Other visitors' reviews of Zhenguo Temple
Show More ReviewsHalf of the main hall is under renovation, but there's still enough space to see the main features. Most tourists rush into Shuanglin Temple and skip this part, so the experience is much better with fewer people. It's a rare Five Dynasties structure in China, a textbook example of the seven-tiered bracket system, a must-see for ancient architecture enthusiasts.
