The site serves as an educational demonstration base, national defense education demonstration base, national integrity education base, national women's education base, Hainan Province's overall national security concept education base, and Hainan Province's education base for the next generation to learn about Party and national history. The memorial gardens were completed on May 1, 2000, underwent renovation and exhibition updates starting in 2021, and reopened to the public free of charge on September 23, 2023 after completion of renovations.
