Hyatt Regency Dongguan

This is my third stay here. The first was 10 years ago, and the second was a month ago. This time, I was upgraded again. The front desk staff were lovely, provided great service, and were very polite. I tried the dinner at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, Qin Yuan, this time. The food was decent, and they had a special on grouper. However, the crispy chicken slices with kiwi pastry, chicken wings, and drumsticks were all a bit dry, which was a disappointment. I really have to give a negative review for the cleanliness of the shower area this time. There was mold in multiple spots, which was quite disgusting.

The lobby is very grand and spacious, with plenty of amenities. It's clearly a popular spot for families on weekend getaways. We played tennis on the covered court, which was nice not to be in the sun, though it was a bit stuffy. The pool was great. However, there's no self-service laundry, and the TV is old and fuzzy.

This Hyatt hotel comes highly recommended, especially considering it's a long-standing five-star establishment in Songshan Lake. Built right by the lake, it boasts stunning lake views and lush greenery, offering a serene and spacious environment. Opening your window reveals picturesque lake and mountain scenery, instantly giving you that relaxed vacation vibe. The rooms are generously sized and well-maintained. The hotel also features a comprehensive range of amenities, including a pool, restaurants, and family-friendly facilities, making it suitable for both business meetings and leisure trips. Despite being open for many years, the service remains professional and attentive. Compared to other five-star lake-view hotels in the same area, its pricing is more approachable, and it offers a variety of packages, making it excellent value for money. Whether you're looking for a short getaway, a family vacation, or a business stopover, this hotel is a solid and reliable choice.

The hotel boasts an elegant environment with over a thousand acres of expansive lychee orchards, where birds sing and flowers bloom. The restaurant's dishes offer unique flavors and are absolutely delicious. The service is attentive, thoughtful, meticulous, and professional. It made for an unforgettable and pleasant trip.

The Grand Hyatt is our go-to spot for family vacations. The buffet and general hotel environment always meet our expectations. However, some of the facilities are starting to show their age and could use an upgrade.

The balcony opening up to a lot of greenery was nice! However, the soundproofing in the room was terrible; I couldn't sleep at all because of the noise late at night, and the staff didn't handle it proactively! I definitely won't be staying here a second time. Hyatt has been receiving complaints from various guests, and I won't be booking with them again!

The Songshan Lake Hotel in Dongguan has an amazing location! The hotel is surrounded by Songshan Lake, and as soon as you open the window, there's a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, the pavilions and towers in the distance, and the beautiful lake scenery. The hotel's interior decoration is still relatively new, and the overall architecture has a traditional style. It's truly massive; it takes several minutes to walk from the front desk to the room. A big thank you to Herbert, who helped us with check-in! Norton from the breakfast department was also very enthusiastic in explaining the breakfast options. The hotel itself is excellent, my only minor quibble is that the front desk area feels a bit too small. For such a large five-star hotel, the entire front desk workspace seems a bit cramped and lacking in grandeur. If there are future renovation plans, I highly recommend making the front desk much more spacious and impressive. Thank you for taking care of me and my Indian colleague during our stay. The hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to Songshan Lake Scenic Area, where you can find everything for dining, entertainment, and shopping. The Litchi Forest parking lot has plenty of spaces. Kaka, the duty manager who checked me in, was excellent – very responsive and efficient. The air at the hotel in the morning is refreshing, and I saw a mini-train available. It’s clear from these details, like not needing to ask for a power card upon check-in, that the hotel provides meticulous and thoughtful service. Breakfast was decent with a good variety of choices. It's also a great option to go for a run in Songshan Lake Scenic Area. Following Kaka's recommendation, I checked out a popular roasted goose restaurant, and it was quite good. See you next time!

For my birthday this year, I planned a getaway to Songshan Lake. After browsing through Ctrip, I found that only the Hyatt was lakeside, so I chose it. When I went to the front desk to check in with my ID, the lovely attendant, Lucky, noticed it was my birthday and enthusiastically wished me well, even upgrading my room! I was truly touched. The hotel is located right on Songshan Lake, and its gardens connect directly to the lake. The lake-view rooms offer a beautiful panoramic view of the lake. The room itself was clean and tidy. The staff were all incredibly responsive and welcoming. It was truly a fantastic trip!
