Líbere Madrid Malasaña

This was the second Libere I booked for my Spain and Portugal trip. I had a good impression of the one in Seville, and this Libere in Madrid is just as good. Self-check-in and luggage storage were very convenient. The room had a full set of kitchen utensils, and I even cooked a meal there.

After traveling through Europe so many times, I've never been so annoyed and utterly disappointed. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel if possible. They charge hotel prices but offer zero service, worse than an Airbnb. All communication was via email, and you had to check-in online to get the door code and room number. There was absolutely no service to speak of. I stayed for three nights, then extended for another night. Incredibly, they gave me an accessible room without telling us. We only found out when we arrived at the hotel around 3 PM, which was incredibly inconvenient for us. The shower and toilet had no separation between wet and dry areas, the faucet was broken, and there was only a tiny square to stand in to shower. The shower curtain was also falling down, and the room facilities were old and worn. The experience was a negative score. The toilet was right next to the bed, and there was a constant smell of urine all night. We woke up at 7 AM and quickly left the hotel. 😵💫😵💫👎👎👎👎

City center, surrounded by a shopping street and very close to the subway! The room was clean and well-equipped, with a dishwasher and washing machine. There are multiple supermarkets nearby, perfect for home cooking! Check-in was also very convenient!

Great location and friendly staff, but the room was tiny with no sofa. All the in-room instructions were in Spanish, which I couldn't understand and had to use Google Translate. There was no room cleaning service, and the shower pressure was very weak, making it uncomfortable to wash. The sink was also very shallow with low water pressure. Definitely not ideal, especially for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The room was very neat and clean, and the two coded doors made it feel secure and quiet. I really appreciate the hotel staff who helped me with the self-check-in process, making it smooth and hassle-free. It was a very pleasant stay.
