New Town Hotel

Exquisite British style 👍 The convenient location means you can pop back to your room for a rest when you're tired from exploring, and it feels so cozy. 🌹 The only downside is that it's an old building so there's no elevator 🙈, but I still loved it very much! 💕 Helpful tip: When you come out of the train station, take the shortcut shown in picture #17 to get to the hotel 🏨

The location is great, very close to all the attractions. However, the bathroom lacks a ventilation fan, making it stuffy after a shower. It can also get quite hot and stuffy in the summer without air conditioning. Overall, it's a good place, but the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear people walking by outside.

The location is great, just a 10-minute walk to Calton Hill. However, we were assigned a basement room. We wanted to switch to an upstairs room, but the front desk told us they were fully booked. Luckily, it wasn't a completely subterranean room as it had a window, so it wasn't too bad. The room provided complimentary bottled water and sparkling water, which was a nice touch. On the downside, the soundproofing wasn't great; we could hear conversations and TV noise from the next room. Fortunately, it quieted down when we were ready to rest, so it didn't disturb our sleep.

The hotel is very close to the train station and Calton Hill. There's also a large shopping center in the New Town not far from the hotel, which is quite convenient. The room had high ceilings, was spacious, and very clean. I really liked it.

The location is excellent, and the front desk staff are incredibly welcoming. Even without air conditioning, leaving the windows open in the summer kept the room from getting stuffy. No elevator wasn't an issue as the front desk staff proactively helped carry luggage to the room. I had seen some negative reviews about cleanliness on Google Maps, which made me a bit worried, but my actual stay was perfectly fine. The only minor issue was that the spoon in the cup wasn't properly cleaned; there was still some residue that easily washed off, so it might not have been thoroughly cleaned.
