The humidity on the mountain is extremely high and the air is still, even hotter than downtown. It’s like an immersive sauna. Even on cloudy days, there’s no cool breeze. After 10 minutes of walking, you’re soaked in sweat, clothes stick to your body, hair is oily and flat, and your makeup melts away—no chance for pretty photos. Plus, Nanning’s weather is unpredictable—one moment it’s sunny, the next a sudden thunderstorm. The park is huge with very few shelters. After rain, the paths get slippery, ruining the experience. 2. Mosquitoes and bugs everywhere, impossible to avoid This is the most frustrating part! The dense forest, lakesides, grass, and paths are full of mosquitoes and tiny black flies. Even if you cover yourself with mosquito repellent, you’ll still get bitten all over. Wearing shorts or skirts is basically “asking for it.” The bites swell and itch for days.
