Hotel Monterey le Frere Osaka

The location is very convenient. Just take Exit 1143 of JR Kitashinchi Station, and it's right on your right as you come up, so you don't have to drag your luggage far. The underground network is well-connected, providing access to all subway and JR hubs. The Itami Airport limousine bus stops across from the Hilton (check the timetable).

The hotel is very easy to find, which is a huge advantage in Umeda. The rooms are spacious and kept clean. There is a hot spring and sauna on the third floor that guests can use for free, and the front desk offers complimentary luggage storage.

The room was relatively clean, with no bugs or mold found. Downstairs there's a drugstore, a convenience store, and plenty of restaurants. Right across the street is the "Osaka Ekimae Dai-3 Building," which has a basement full of small eateries and izakayas open until 11 PM. Located in the Umeda commercial district, major shopping malls are within walking distance. Fortunately, the neighbors next door were quite quiet, and I couldn't hear any noise from them. I didn't interact much with the staff, but overall they had a good attitude and were easy to communicate with. On the downside, if you want to take the subway, it actually takes about a ten-minute walk to reach the station entrance.

Not too far from Osaka Station, and you can reach the entrance via an underground passage. The surrounding area is very convenient, and the triple room was a decent size. The front desk is on the second floor, and they have a luggage scale, which is a nice touch.

The hotel is a bit far from the subway station, but by the third day, we figured out that we could use the underground walkways across the street, which was great for avoiding the sun. Plus, in the evenings, there were many bento boxes on discount underground, offering a much wider variety than the convenience store downstairs, which was excellent value for money. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from major shopping centers like Daimaru, Hankyu, and Yodobashi. The free coffee on the second floor of the hotel was a daily must-have, and there was also a microwave for heating food, which was very convenient. Our room rate included an extra bed, and the three of us slept comfortably on the nice mattress. The room and bathroom were compact but perfectly functional. The cleanliness wasn't perfect; we could see dust on the table every day, but for around 600 during the summer holidays, I still think it was worth it.

This hotel offers direct underground access to the Osaka Station shopping area, so you don't have to worry about getting wet on rainy days. There are numerous izakayas, drugstores, and convenience stores nearby. Daimaru, Hankyu, and Yodobashi Camera are all within walking distance, and it's very convenient to get to Universal Studios Japan and Namba. The rooms feature a minimalist Japanese design and are quite spacious, allowing you to open two suitcases comfortably. It's suitable for a family of three. There's a public onsen (hot spring) bath, perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a day of sightseeing.

Not far from Osaka Station, about a 10-minute walk. There's a drugstore and a Lawson convenience store downstairs. On the 3rd floor, you can enjoy a public bath, and the room comes with a bath basket and Yukata, which helped wash away my fatigue and gave me a taste of Japanese bathing culture.
