Shinjuku Kuyakusho-Mae Capsule Hotel

The room was okay, but having to leave the hostel from 11 AM to 3 PM is really inconvenient. They were also quite rude with every request I made. I wasn't even allowed to leave my luggage at reception for an hour BEFORE checkout time.

This accommodation exceeded my expectations. There's a decent-sized vanity area, and they provide a fresh set of pajamas and towels daily. Luggage is stored on the same floor as your capsule, which is very convenient. I was lucky enough to get a bottom bunk with no one above me, and it wasn't peak season so it wasn't full. However, if someone accidentally bumps the capsule, you'll definitely hear it. If you're an early sleeper, be aware that people will be coming and going at night. What's unique is that you check in on the 3rd floor, then take off your shoes and put them in a shoe locker. You then exchange the shoe locker key for your capsule locker key. You have to do this every time you enter and exit. I'd recommend noting down your capsule locker number in case you need it. Also, be aware that the pillow is very thin, and light can seep in through the gaps when the curtain is pulled. If you're sensitive to light, I'd suggest bringing an eye mask.

Very clean and tidy. Unfortunately, you have to check out and check in every day, even if you're staying for multiple days.

This hotel really impressed me for the price! I was surprised because the front walk seemed like a lively area for eating, drinking, and entertainment, but once you step inside, the hotel is a completely different world – very relaxing and friendly.
