Houhai Village(Tenghai Fishing Village)

Houhai Village (also known as Teng Hai Village) is located in the southeastern part of Haitang Bay, Haitang District, Sanya, approx. 35 km from downtown Sanya and faces Wuzhizhou Island across the sea. This is a pristine fishing village primarily inhabited by the Tanka people (waterborne fishermen), which has rapidly gained popularity in recent years due to its exceptional surfing conditions, earning it the titles of "a paradise for surfers" and "a world for the young." The same village presents two entirely different charms between day and night.

During the day in Houhai Village, "Houhai surfers" carrying surfboards come and go in an endless stream. The waves in Houhai Bay persist year-round, with a gentle and safe underwater terrain. Night · Sleepless fishing village

As night falls, Houhai Village transforms into another world: the main road is brightly lit, with restaurants and stalls forming a seemingly endless food street offering seafood, skewers, qingbu liang (a chilled dessert), tropical fruits, and more—a feast for the eyes. On the beach, shops quiet by day turn into lively bars. Their open designs let you sip drinks in the sea breeze or dance facing the ocean to let loose—even without stepping inside, the vibrant energy is palpable.
