Sofia Colombo City Hotel

The hotel has very convenient transportation, just a few minutes' walk to the beach. You can see the coastal mini-train right from the hotel, and the restaurant has a lovely decor. The rooftop pool is gorgeous too! There are plenty of commercial facilities nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient.

I requested room cleaning in the morning because I had a reception and would be back late. When I returned, I found all the bath towels had been used and were hanging far away. I don't know if bath towels are in such short supply in Sri Lanka. I called the front desk twice to ask for new ones, but after waiting for over an hour, they still hadn't been delivered. I called again, and they still didn't arrive. The picture I've shared is the original photo.

The breakfast was delicious and the view was great too. The location was pretty good as well, I suppose, though I would have preferred a slightly higher floor.

This hotel is equivalent to a domestic 3-star standard, a bit less impressive than an Atour Hotel. The room soundproofing is good, but the bedding feels cheap, and the air conditioning isn't very cool. The biggest letdown is the low water pressure for both the sink and shower. It's unwise to cut costs on the most crucial customer experience. The check-out time is officially 12 PM, but it can be extended until 3 PM if needed.
