Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort

I was quite apprehensive before booking, seeing a fair number of negative reviews and photos showing only a sliver of ocean view. But I booked a full ocean view room anyway, and when I actually got there, the view was fantastic! The ocean views in Haitang Bay are generally a bit distant, but still beautiful to look at. The hotel lobby and public areas are gorgeous, from the central lawn and garden design to the coconut groves and beach chair lounge areas by the sea – perfect for photos. The service wasn't as bad as some online reviews suggested; our butler, Nina, was very responsive and helpful. Staff I encountered on paths always greeted me, and someone helped with luggage when we arrived. While it might not compare to some ultra-luxury hotels, it's generally good! Not as bad as the online reviews made it out to be. The kids' activities were plentiful and well-organized; we didn't even have time to try everything. The highlight was definitely the 'Big Horn' slide at the kids' water park – my little one couldn't get enough of it! The Le Bing Bakery was also a unique feature, where my child made several kinds of desserts. Breakfast offered a great variety, including three types of freshly squeezed juices that were promptly refilled. The bread was particularly outstanding and a hotel specialty! Overall, I'm very satisfied, and my child absolutely loved it and said they want to come back! Definitely not a bad choice!

Arrived at the hotel quite early and initially there were no rooms available. Thankfully, our butler Nina helped coordinate and even got us an upgrade. Her service was excellent, and she was always available to assist with any issues. The hotel's public areas are really beautiful, especially the impressive lobby. Passing through the lobby in the evening, the distant view of the sunset glow and mountains is truly stunning. To be honest, the room was a bit ordinary and showed some signs of age. I wasn't a fan of the lighting design; I prefer a darker environment for sleeping. However, the lights were either completely off, making it pitch black and inconvenient for getting up at night, or the night lights, when on, illuminated both sides of the bed, which was far too bright. Also, this hotel seems more suitable for families with young children. For older guests simply looking for a relaxing getaway, the hotel can be a bit boring as there aren't many activities.

Experience Sofitel! The front desk arranged for me to stay in the Jade Tower. The lobby was quite busy, and I had to queue. Nikki, the butler, provided excellent service during check-in. She even highlighted hotel activities like the fire dance and lighting ceremony, and there was coconut tree climbing. She also arranged a late check-out and gave me complimentary afternoon tea. The butler was super responsive on WeChat throughout my stay. I'll definitely come back next time.

Facilities: A bit old but clean and tidy. Hygiene: Up to standard. Environment: The landscaping is excellent. Service: A bit lacking, but Wendy's service was thoughtful and meticulous! Communication was smooth throughout, and she responded promptly to our needs. Considering our itinerary, she even kindly helped us arrange a late check-out. The service was spot on, and I was very satisfied with this stay.

The hotel's architectural style creates a fantastic atmosphere. The French architecture paired with tropical greenery is incredibly romantic, and relaxing on the balcony with the breeze was delightful. Anna provided attentive and thoughtful service. The Chinese restaurant was delicious, and the Thai restaurant was very unique. The facilities were also extensive, so you could pretty much eat and play all within the hotel. I came in a hurry and didn't get to fully experience everything, but after these past few days in Sanya, the Sofitel left a great impression compared to other hotels.

We were accommodated in Pearl Tower, which made getting to the beach and other areas of the resort incredibly convenient. She was always available to answer any questions we had, responding quickly and efficiently. After learning about our travel plans, she even kindly helped us arrange a late check-out. The entire communication process was smooth and pleasant, making this a fantastic vacation experience!

My stay this time was fantastic, and I'd like to give a special shout-out to Wendy. Before I even arrived, she proactively reached out to me to discuss my needs and kindly arranged a room in the Emerald Building, which made getting around incredibly convenient. No matter what questions I had, she was always responsive and had an answer. She also understood my travel plans and went out of her way to help me request a late check-out. Her service was attentive and thoughtful throughout my entire stay. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time.

Overall, the hotel was great! The environment was beautiful and the service was excellent. I added Guest Experience Officer Murca Liu (Xiao Liu) on WeChat in advance, and he asked about our check-in preferences. He helped us reserve a high-floor room in the Pearl Tower, which had an amazing location and view 👍🏻. During our stay, he frequently checked in with us, asking about our needs daily. He was very professional, patient, and attentive – truly fantastic! I'll definitely look for him again next time. The hotel facilities are very comprehensive. There are many parent-child activities, and the environment is unbeatable; my whole family was very happy. The main pool and the kids' pool were a lot of fun, and the pools are quite large with many children. Overall, I highly recommend staying here.

I have to commend Wendy, one of the staff members, for her incredibly thoughtful service during my stay. Initially, our two rooms were in different buildings. After I explained the situation, she immediately and efficiently arranged for a room change the next day. Later, my family was quite happy with the current rooms, so we decided not to switch. On the day of check-out, she learned about my itinerary and kindly offered a late check-out. Her responses were always prompt and her service was meticulous throughout, making for a very comfortable stay.
