Osaka Ryokan Kuramoto

The location is fantastic, just a 10-minute walk to Dotonbori's main street. Even though it's close to the bustling area, it's quiet and charming, making me want to stay here again when I visit Osaka. The Kaiseki breakfast was incredibly delicious, and while the onsen is small, it had a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I chose this ryokan based on a few criteria: 1) I wanted a traditional ryokan, not a Western-style hotel; 2) it needed to be close to the station and Dotonbori for both shopping and nightlife; and 3) it had to be reasonably priced. Reasonable prices are generally hard to come by in Osaka, but this ryokan definitely won out in that category. I didn't opt for breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The room key is old-fashioned and heavy, and you have to hand it in every time you leave. A nice touch was the rice tea instead of standard tea bags. Overall, I was very satisfied.

I saw the biggest cockroach of my life there. I booked it because I wanted to experience a traditional Japanese inn, but it's more like an old Korean inn. Definitely go for a new building! Luckily, I stayed in a new building for 3 nights and only stayed here for the last night. It was seriously bigger than a cicada ㅠㅠ

This was a place I'd love to visit again. I'm back in Korea, but I'm still thinking about it! I had a great time resting and playing here!

The staff were incredibly friendly, and I genuinely felt well looked after. However, for those who enjoy early morning solo walks, it might be a bit inconvenient, as you have to leave your key at the front desk every time you step out.
