JW Marriott Hotel Zhengzhou

The room felt unwelcoming. It was spacious, but the bed looked incredibly hard and boxy, and even the bathtub was square, lacking any curves. Compared to other JWs, this one falls far short of the JW in Bangkok. The body lotion bottles were glued to the counter, making me wonder if they're worried about guests stealing them. Furthermore, the swimming pool water was freezing. After a swim, my knees and other joints ached because the pool isn't temperature-controlled. Breakfast was chaotic, with interns seemingly clueless. Why are they allowed to work without proper training and understanding of the procedures? Are guests just guinea pigs? It made for a poor experience. Worst of all, when I checked in, I specifically asked if the mini-fridge was cold because I had milk with me. The front desk assured me it was, but all my milk spoiled. Why aren't the hardware facilities maintained properly? The fridge just needed to keep things cool, not freeze them, so why was it so terrible? I stayed in the executive lounge and was thoroughly disappointed. The price and service, along with the hardware facilities, were severely mismatched.

My first time at JW Marriott Zhengzhou, and everything from service to quality was top-notch. The hotel looks stunning at night, and the location is fantastic. The executive lounge offers memorable views and food, and the breakfast even includes local Zhengzhou specialties like egg rolls and 'roujiamo' (Chinese hamburger), which were delicious. Upon arrival, I received a welcome snack; the peanuts were incredibly flavorful, a pleasant surprise. I requested mosquito repellent, and it was delivered to my room very quickly with excellent service. A special thanks to Luna from the hotel's customer service center; her service was incredibly thoughtful. She even helped mail my charger back home after realizing I left it in the room—I'm truly grateful! I'll definitely be back!

This hotel is seriously outdated. The room had an odd smell as soon as I walked in, and when I brought it up, the only solution offered was to open the door for ventilation. Is this really a five-star hotel? The room facilities are too old. The hairdryer's filter was so dirty and clogged that I had to take it apart and clean it myself. The hotel's parking is on the third basement level, and driving my rented minivan in and out was incredibly difficult. It was a real struggle. Thankfully, despite the poor hardware, the service was decent. I have to mention again that check-in at Marriott hotels is always incredibly slow; it's nothing like domestic chain hotels where you just swipe your ID. The Marriott front desk staff are typing away at who knows what, and it takes at least 20 minutes to check in! I think I'll stick to staying in Luoyang next time; their hotels are truly top-notch!

The location is great, offering nice city views. There's a row of restaurants downstairs too, perfect for a pleasant stroll with a gentle breeze. It's really good.

Staying in the 'Big Corn' building, overlooking Zhengzhou's city center and Ruyi Lake, was truly a wonderful and amazing experience. **Facilities**: This JW Marriott has been open for some years now, and while the room design shows its age, all the facilities are very well-maintained, and the rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy. **Service**: The service here is genuinely excellent. From top to bottom, every front desk staff member and server I encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful, living up to the JW luxury brand. **Breakfast**: It's a standard offering for a luxury hotel, not particularly stunning, but sufficiently plentiful and delicious. Plus, the restaurant is quite spacious, able to accommodate guests during peak dining hours. **41st Floor Executive Lounge Benefits**: Due to my schedule this trip, I didn't get a chance to enjoy the executive lounge benefits. I will definitely try it next time!

No smoking rooms available. The boat tour outside the hotel was a rip-off; it was 1.5 hours long and cost 158, definitely not worth it. The hotel's night view was somewhat unique. For food delivery, you have to go from your room to the 38th-floor lobby, then down to the first floor to pick it up yourself, as there are no robots to deliver to the room, which is a bit of a hassle 😡. To get to the 59th-floor observation deck, you have to use the elevator outside the hotel; I'm not sure why the hotel's direct access was closed.

Maggie, the front desk staff, was warm and polite. The room was meticulously cleaned, and the bedding was so soft, I slept soundly. Excellent value for money!

The room was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel has a very cozy layout, and the views of Zhengzhou's nightscape from here are stunning, especially from the high-floor rooms. Plus, the staff were very polite and made us feel right at home.

The room had a noticeable musty smell. The view was partially obstructed by an external light, so it wasn't great. The facilities were quite old. Service was just average. Compared to other hotels I stayed at later for the same price, this one really didn't stand out much beyond its location and higher floor.
