Richmond Hotel Sapporo Odori

Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay. The hotel's location is excellent, situated in a vibrant and convenient area, making both travel and shopping very easy. Furthermore, the hotel's overall cleanliness was commendable, with both guest rooms and common areas meticulously maintained. However, there were a few aspects that left us disappointed. Firstly, regarding breakfast. We noticed that some items at the breakfast buffet ran out before the serving time ended and were not promptly replenished. For guests who arrived later for breakfast, the food choices were significantly limited, which fell short of our expectations for a hotel of this size. Secondly, concerning the complimentary drink vouchers. We booked three rooms for a two-night stay and received quite a few complimentary drink vouchers, for which we were very grateful. On our last night, we used all remaining vouchers at once, redeeming over 10 drinks. The drinks were delivered smoothly, and the hotel also provided some small servings of mixed nuts to accompany them. However, we only received a total of four small bowls of mixed nuts. When we politely requested more from the staff, we were told that the nuts were "out of stock." Frankly, this response left our entire group surprised and speechless. For a hotel of its size, located in a bustling area, to run out of even basic bar snacks was truly puzzling. We understand that mixed nuts are merely complimentary snacks and not a mandatory offering, but such handling inevitably made us feel as if the hotel wasn't particularly welcoming to guests using vouchers. Since the hotel actively distributed so many drink vouchers to guests, we hoped that when guests redeemed them according to the rules, they would receive a service experience consistent with the hotel's standing. Despite these issues, the hotel's excellent location and good hygiene still added a lot of convenience and comfort to our trip. We hope that hotel management will address the issues with breakfast replenishment and bar service to further enhance the overall service quality and provide a more complete guest experience for future visitors.

Context: The 'Prestige Corner Room' windows face a construction site with accompanying noise, which unfortunately detracts from the overall ambiance. This deduction only applies to my specific room type. Ambiance: The hotel's back entrance opens directly onto Tanukikoji shopping street, and it's a mere 10 meters from Hokkaido's largest Don Quijote. The location is unbeatable, though the construction across the road from the main entrance does have a negative impact. Facilities: The hotel facilities are on par with a 3-star rating, so you don't need to worry too much about amenities. There's no bottled water in the room, but there's a public water dispenser by the elevator. Service: Full housekeeping service is only available on the third day for guests staying four days or more. This is quite inconvenient for longer stays, as trash can quickly pile up. Hygiene: Overall, the environment is very clean and tidy. Even with smoking rooms, there's no smoke smell in the elevators. The laundry room has two washer-dryer combos, which are very busy. The inside of the machines is quite dirty, so I'd recommend only washing outer garments and not underwear.

The free flow of drinks at 4 PM was fantastic, and the breakfast offered a great variety of delicious options. The room itself was also quite spacious.

After exiting Sapporo Station, skip the subway. Just walk straight along the underground walkway, and you'll be there in about 10 minutes. It's much more convenient than taking the Namboku Line and having to lug luggage up stairs. The location is excellent. Don Quijote is right behind the hotel, and it's close to famous ice cream shops and night parfait spots. On the first floor, you can pick up toiletries yourself, and they even have face masks – a big plus! For laundry, you'll need 100-yen coins, but there's a change machine on the first floor. The breakfast is pretty good, with freshly made tempura, sushi, and ramen. For a three-star hotel, it's not cheap, but the experience is great, exceeding what you'd expect from a three-star property.

The breakfast was excellent, featuring soup curry, caviar, sashimi, sushi, tempura, and even a DIY seafood rice bowl station. Although the selection wasn't vast, everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The location is fantastic: just a 5-minute walk from Odori Subway Station. Exit the main entrance, turn right, then immediately left, and it's a short stroll away. (You can catch trains to Shiroi Koibito Park and Hokkaido Shrine from Odori Station). The hotel's back exit leads directly to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Turn left out of the back door, walk to Tanukikoji 1-chome, and you'll find Nijo Market. From JR Sapporo Station: After exiting the ticket gate, walk straight ahead. When you see the area shown in Picture 3, take the escalator down and continue walking straight. The exit is to the right of the sign in Picture 4. Turn right as shown in Picture 5, and then take the escalator up as shown in Picture 6, and you'll arrive at the hotel. (It's about an 18-minute walk from JR Station to the hotel).

The hotel is conveniently located for shopping and dining, with a back exit leading directly to Tanukikoji 4, a famous shopping arcade in Sapporo. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel facilities are relatively new and clean. You can pick up toiletries from the dispenser on the first floor. Each guest receives a free drink coupon daily, redeemable at the restaurant on the first floor. For airport transfers, the Chitose Airport bus stop is conveniently located at the intersection of Tanukikoji 5 and 6, specifically platform S32 (you can find this by searching 'Sapporo Asia Hotel' on Google). The self-service washing machine could use a good clean, as it had a bit of an odor. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

The hotel is super convenient, right in Tanukikoji 5. As soon as you step out, there are shops. The underground shopping street entrance is also nearby, and the tram station is just a short walk away. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hakata.

The hotel is very convenient for getting around. The room was a bit small, but the service was excellent. Breakfast didn't have a huge selection, but it tasted good. The location is superb.
