An excellent hotel! The food and service were fantastic. A walk through the spa town at night was incredibly therapeutic. Staying here for a night was a wise choice; Hotel Mori no Uta is truly one of the best hotels in the area.

This is my first time leaving a negative review. The official website stated they had Chinese-speaking staff, but there was none when I arrived at the hotel. Therefore, when making reservations, it's crucial to leave detailed requests in English on their official website, otherwise, any issues might be difficult to resolve. Subsequent problems arose: I had telephoned to book the hotel shuttle service, and was told it would be directly opposite the station exit. Despite arriving ten minutes early during a heavy downpour, we couldn't find the shuttle. When I called, I was told it had already left. When I asked again where the shuttle actually parked, the answer bafflingly changed to platform 3. At the time, we left one person at the platform to watch our luggage, while the other two braved the rain to check opposite, only to find nothing. How could they say the bus had already left? It's inexplicable, do they just leave without picking up passengers?! Finally, the hotel charges for late check-out after 10 AM, even though we had booked the 11:30 AM shuttle service, and it was just our family of three on the bus. The hotel toiletries are complete, and the hot spring is quite good. Perhaps because it was the off-season, there were only two or three people every day, making it very peaceful. I will not choose Mori no Utako again if I return to Hokkaido. The hotel's service is not very human-centric, and overall, the value for money is not high.

Just around the corner from the bus stop, the hotel offers fantastic and delicious breakfast and dinner. The hot springs are very comfortable, and the spacious room made our stay with my parents a great experience.

The lady at the front desk who checked us in was very humorous and patiently explained everything. The hotel was clean and tidy. The lady pictured in the restaurant always had a big smile and was very warm and attentive. I really liked the service from these two ladies! 👍

March 24, 2026 I stayed at Mori no Uta for my birthday. I contacted the hotel in advance, and they had a birthday card ready for me. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from Makomanai Station, which needs to be booked beforehand. On the day I checked out, I booked the 9:30 AM shuttle, arrived at the station at 10:00 AM, and smoothly caught the 10:10 AM airport bus to New Chitose Airport. It was all seamless. The Japanese-Western style room was 40 square meters and quite spacious. It had a huge massage chair and a coffee machine. What impressed me most was dinner, where they offered freshly made pizza or naan that you could customize with toppings and have delivered to your table once baked. The naan crust was soft and fragrant with a wheaty aroma. I specifically asked for extra large shrimp and a generous amount of cheese – it was impossible not to love it! The dinner seating faced a beautifully illuminated snow scene outside, which was absolutely stunning. The hotel lobby boasts a magnificent, floor-to-ceiling fireplace, which is perfect for photos. In the evening, there was a small harp concert, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Both breakfast and dinner featured incredibly creamy ice cream. I had two big bowls at each meal and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Staying at Jozankei Onsen Hotel for three nights was a truly Hokkaido-esque experience. The seafood buffet was fantastic, and enjoying the hot springs in the snow was magical. The hotel included breakfast and dinner, and there was a shuttle bus to Makomanai, from where you could easily take a train to the city center and surrounding areas. The hotel facilities were comprehensive, with violin performances and evening activities, plus a bar – truly everything you could ask for. It’s an excellent spot for a relaxing getaway.

This hotel is truly a fantastic place to relax and unwind. The buffet here is absolutely amazing. While the variety isn't massive, every single dish is high-quality, delicious, and beautifully presented – perfect for photos. In the evenings, there's a violin player in the lobby. Sitting on the small sofa by the window, listening to the soothing music, it's incredibly pleasant and relaxing. The lobby's book bar also has a wonderful ambiance, equipped with very comfortable recliners. Lying back with a book, accompanied by lovely music, it's truly ideal for anyone who enjoys staying in. And the hot springs at this hotel are also excellent. The environment, the toiletries, and the hot spring pools themselves were the best I encountered on my entire trip.

Staff were super and friendly. Did not even know I had accidentally left my room key in the onsen locker, but the one of the male staff (young, tall, spiky hair) personally came to our table during breakfast to return me the key! Really touched and appreciative by their kindness and initiative. Would definitely recommend to friends and family who might be travelling to the area
