Shinola Hotel

Great place to stay. Very clean and excellent location in downtown Detroit. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a beautiful suite on floor 7M!! AMAZING!! Only 2 rooms on this floor. Breakfast was delicious and go shopping at the Shinola store you won't be disappointed!!

We were told our luggage would be in our room by 4:00 PM, but it wasn’t delivered until 5:20 PM, causing us to miss our dinner reservation. The room was also extremely loud from street noise, and we couldn’t sleep until well after 1:30 AM. There was also an unexpected destination amenity fee. When we raised these issues, we were told nothing could be done because we booked through a third party. Very disappointed, especially given the cost of the stay and missing the reservation that was one of the main reasons for our trip. We made a complaint to the Director of Front Office and were told there was nothing they could do because we booked through a third party. This experience has made it clear that booking through ******* offers no protection or support. I will book directly with hotels going forward. Very disappointed. We spent a lot of money and didn’t even make the reservation that was one of the main reasons for our trip.

Apart from the fact it is a bit dark for my age in the common areas (e.g., corridor leading to elevator), the hotel is great.

Our stay at the Shinola Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived for Opening Day weekend, the atmosphere and attention to detail confirmed why this is the premier spot to stay in Detroit. The room was everything you could want and more—impeccably designed, incredibly comfortable, and stocked with the high-quality touches that the Shinola brand is known for. It truly felt like a luxury home away from home. Beyond the beautiful aesthetics, the staff was great across the board, but we want to give a very special mention to Gina DeBruyn. The level of service she provided to my wife and me was absolutely world-class. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and memorable, treating us with a level of care and professionalism that is rare to find. Between the top-tier service from Gina and the perfect accommodations, the Shinola Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. We can’t wait to come back!

This was our first experience staying at Shinola although we knew about the hotel's reputation as a premier property in Detroit. It was just a one-night stay, but we had an incredible experience. I had reached out in advance sharing it was a special occasion celebrating an anniversary and babymoon. I didn't expect much but I believe we were assigned a more spacious corner room and received a very sweet hand-written letter from the staff, along with a bottle of sparkling juice and some chocolates - all hand-delivered by the very friendly and charming Samuel. We also visited San Morello and the Evening Bar (mocktails), both were equally awesome experiences. The room was very well appointed, clean, and quiet. The overall ambiance of the hotel was very charming and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Great hospitality. We had the Gallery Suite, it was very nice. The restaurant and lounge were great as always. Valet. Top tier.

I had double booked my reservation, and cancelled the wrong date as soon as I learned of it. This hotel still charged me for both. They accepted over $400 and refused to cancel it because it was a "no show." They present themselves as a luxury hotel, but their customer service was that of a much lower class facility. I would not recommend booking here under any circumstances. They provided no service at all, but they kept my payment.

Great hotel, great staff, only issues we had were only one elevator working, which made things difficult coming and going, and we were unable to figure out how to regulate the shower water temperature. Other than that it was a great stay.
