Xiamen Horticulture Expo Garden is a grand collection of gardens with an extensive variety of plants. It showcases diverse garden styles, allowing visitors to experience famous views and artistic designs from different regions. With its rich architectural styles and abundant flora, it's an ideal spot for photography, ensuring stunning shots.

Xiamen Horticulture Expo Garden is located by Xinglin Bay in Jimei District. The attraction is divided into nine distinct zones: Jiangnan Garden, Modern Garden, Northern Garden, International Garden, Lingnan Garden, Landscape Architects Garden, Public Garden, Ethnic Culture Garden, and Min-Tai Island. Each zone boasts its own unique characteristics.

These parks collectively feature hundreds of small attractions. It's nearly impossible to explore them all thoroughly in a single day, so check the map beforehand and prioritize visiting the attractions that interest you most. Manage your sightseeing pace based on your return time.

The Jiangnan Garden area showcases the classic Jiangnan garden style, featuring the iconic water town scenery with small bridges, flowing streams, and traditional houses that embody ancient town charm. The Modern Garden area adopts contemporary landscape design concepts, boldly incorporating various new materials and innovative techniques.

The Northern Garden Area embodies the grandeur of imperial-style gardens reminiscent of Beijing's classical landscapes. Interestingly, both Shijiazhuang and Zhengzhou showcase theatrical themes through distinct yet equally captivating approaches. The International Garden Area highlights the unique horticultural features and architectural styles of cities worldwide, featuring breathtaking views from countries like New Zealand and Australia.

The Lingnan Garden recreates the distinctive Lingnan landscape using materials like gray bricks and tiles along with various characteristic plants. The Landscape Architect Area primarily features scenic views such as the Bamboo Garden and Sugarcane Garden. Other garden areas are also aptly named based on their themes.

You can leisurely follow the sightseeing bus route map, surrounded by various flowers and plants, while admiring diverse garden styles. Most of the scenery features miniature versions, similar to Shenzhen Window of the World - but while Window of the World showcases iconic global architecture in miniature, here you'll find scaled-down versions of various garden landscapes.

Some lawns in the park are open for visitors to rest, but please note that certain grassy areas and zones are strictly off-limits for walking. Be sure to check the attraction's signage upon entry. Additionally, since exploring the park with transportation typically takes a full day and food/drink prices inside are high, we recommend bringing your own snacks like water and bread.

The Yuanboyuan Night Lantern Festival is a spectacular light event in Fujian Province, meticulously crafted by Xiamen Cultural Tourism Group in collaboration with Huacaitang Guangyu Entertainment. Spanning 270 acres, the festival blends exquisite lantern artistry with the breathtaking natural views of Yuanboyuan's unique garden landscape.

The lantern festival features 9 meticulously designed thematic lantern arrays, bringing together 5 extra-large, 10 large, 14 medium, and 2 small lantern displays—31 in total. With its three core strengths of "grand scale, stunning visuals, and rich cultural depth," it creates an immersive light-and-shadow cultural feast for visitors from all directions.

This lantern festival runs from late January to late June 2026, spanning nearly 6 months to cover peak travel seasons like Lunar New Year, Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, and Dragon Boat Festival, while also including key consumption periods such as Women's Day, Children's Day, and summer vacation.

Leveraging Xiamen's unique tourism advantages of warm winters and ideal coastal leisure in summer, the lantern festival is expected to attract over a million visitors, with daily peak attendance reaching 50,000 during holidays. The event draws crowds from Xiamen, Quanzhou, Fuzhou and other core areas of southern Fujian, extending to Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, China's northeastern provinces and beyond, while also attracting international visitors.
