Nice moderately-priced hotel one block from the beach. Very good dining - with the exception of the disgusting customers who sneeze and cough without covering their mouth, and the nose pickers!!! Gross!! (Not the hotels fault that Americans are so rude and inconsiderate of others).
The hotel is fairly clean for a high-traffic hotel. The staff are great!! - very friendly and helpful.
My biggest complaint is that for a day and a night, there was only barely warm water for an evening, and on the day we departed, NO HOT WATER!!! (Nothing like a cold morning shower to end one's holiday...). To their credit, the hotel did waive my valet parking charge. But I would have gladly paid the $70 valet parking fee if it meant we would have had hot water. Frankly, there's no excuse for the apparent issues they have with their hot water supply.
In conclusion, I doubt that I will ever stay there again... And my daughter lives in the area, and her Law office is just 2 blocks from the hotel, so I was looking for a hotel to stay in when I come visit her in LA. This hotel will not be it!!
So do yourself a favor, and pay the additional few hundred dollars per night to stay in a "better" hotel.
But again, I want to emphasize, that the hotel is recently refurbished in mid-century modern decor, fairly clean, and the staff were wonderful (9 out of 10) and the food was easily an 8 out of 10.
