The Theva Residency

Not sure why the rating is so high. The photos shown are misleading. In real, the hotel looked nothing like the photos. In real, everything looked ancient and tired. The room i stayed was spacious but that’s the only thing about it. I didnt feel comfortable in the room . Even bath rope was frayed. There’s a swimming pool and sauna room in the hotel, the room itself is ok. All the outside areas including the pool looked dirty and extremely basic. I doubt anyone would want to go in for a dip. It’s also kinda stocking that the height of the bathroom countertop was to my mid-thighs. I’m 160cm. Having said that, staff were nice and polite. Will I pay 90USD for this, without breakfast? Never again.

We stayed for three nights at the Theva Residency, from 29 January 202, Kandy being the first stop in our visit to St Lanka. What an exceptional place - from our warm greeting, the courteous, thoughtful and professional staff, absolutely delicious food (my husband enjoyed his Sri Lankan breakfast while I am still dreaming about that homemade coconut icecream!) in the well run restaurant. The location of the Theva Residency is stunning, with views from our room and the restaurant. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay, highly recommend.

Perfect hideaway above the city. A few kilometres up above Kandy with stunning views, a peaceful atmosphere and attentive staff. Quiet and calm with a feeling of being in nature and amongst the trees. The pool area is a little cramped but the pool itself is nice enough. The food is a highlight, tasty treats for breakfast and dinner.

Beautiful location Nice staff. Mr Russel and Deepika and rest of the staff. Made our stay wonderful specially for my mom 70 th Birthday . With cake and decoration. Superb. Thank you to the team.

This place is located up the hill overlooking Kandy. It's location is great to get away from the hustle of the city but easy reach to surrounding attractions. The first room was great overlooking the surround area and the only sounds were of nature , birds ,monkeys and at night a cocophy of frogs. This room had a balcony which was great to sit and relax during the day and night. They had swimming pool and sauna , we didn't use due to time constraints. The breakfast was great, all freshly prepared and served by very friendly team. As the hotel was not busy we were offered rooms on the top floor which were fantastic. These had even better 360 views of the surrounding countryside. The rooms are well maintained and luxurious, beds are comfortable. Special mention to Vasantha who was there most mornings to welcome us to breakfast with a smile. All in all a great stay, highly recommended.
