Shangri-La Yunbian View Homestay

My partner and I stayed at Shangri-La Yunbian Homestay for 3 nights and overall had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent, right in the centre of the old town, making it very convenient for exploring. We were given a room with a fantastic view and the amenities were great. The main downside is that all rooms open onto a central atrium, so noise from other guests and staff carries easily and can be quite intrusive, especially late at night. Another minor issue is the lack of storage space for hotel supplies, with items like spare mattresses and crates of water stacked in visible areas, which detracts slightly from the atmosphere. Aside from these points, we were very happy with our stay, especially the stunning rooftop views.

The homestay is situated at a higher location than others near the North Gate, which makes it nice and quiet. You can even see the prayer wheel from the rooftop. The staff are helpful with transporting luggage to and from the gate where we can catch a cab. Upon checking in, 小李 showed us around the room and even set up the humidifier for us. 张小姐 was helpful with our queries and requests for laundry and food recommendations. Overall, Shangri-La winter was cold but their hospitality warmed our hearts.

Hotel is equipped with modern facility and setting, very cosy both within the hotel and room. Fully equipped with modern facilites. Location and view is great. Only thing is need to walk a few flight of stairs up and down within the hotel and out of the hotel. Can be quite challenging with the high altitude despite the short walk or climb. Counter lady, not sure if she is the owner is friendly and really offer a great help to us by wechatting us our pasdport copies when we forgot to bring our passports out for some attractions.
