The Ritz-Carlton Sanya, Yalong Bay

First of all, a big thank you to Xiao Die, the head of the Guest Services Center, for the warm hospitality and thoughtful service! This was the last hotel we stayed at during our trip to Sanya. Even though it was just a short one-night stay, the whole family unanimously agreed that it outshone all the previous hotels we stayed at. It truly lives up to the Ritz-Carlton name and the reputation of Yalong Bay—it definitely didn't disappoint and has set a new benchmark for our next trip to Sanya. Although the property has been open for over eight years, the facilities are still well-maintained. The private pool, in particular, exudes an exclusive, luxurious vibe. From the winding corridors and tranquil buildings, every detail speaks of high-end quality. Cleanliness was immaculate and clearly backed by diligent daily upkeep—from the cutlery and linens to the sofas and loungers, everything was spotless. The grounds are gorgeous, featuring an antique yet luxurious charm that is quiet and serene. Most importantly, the service was top-notch: from the lobby manager all the way to the housekeeping staff and lifeguards, everyone was polite, responsive, and attentive, without letting the peak National Day rush compromise their service. There were plenty of kids' activities available; we didn't have time to try them all, but it didn't even matter, as playing in the pool and beachcombing were more than enough to keep the kids entertained. While the hotel's private beach area is quite rocky, a short walk to either side brings you to soft, powdery sand, allowing you to enjoy two different beach experiences. Both breakfast and dinner were of high quality and well worth trying—you'll understand once you taste it! Of course, there were a few minor drawbacks, mainly regarding the hardware. For instance, the toilet felt a bit dated, some tiles showed wear and tear, and the weather stripping on the sliding door was slightly damaged. But for a hotel that's nearly a decade old, these are easily negligible. I highly recommend anyone visiting Sanya to consider staying at The Ritz-Carlton—you won't regret it.

Excellent service, clean and hygienic, with plenty of activities, and a great catch of fish. I hope to receive the fishing activity prize soon. This was an incredibly cost-effective travel accommodation experience, and I'll definitely choose a more premium room type next time.

Nothing felt forced or over-the-top, and there was no empty pleasantry—yet every little detail was taken care of seamlessly. Whenever I reached out, she was super quick to respond and always one step ahead. You can genuinely tell she cares about her guests and isn't just going through the motions. Communicating with her was so easy and effortless; she really made our trip so much better. A huge thank you to Mia!

Our wedding anniversary trip was absolutely perfect. I'd mentioned it was our anniversary beforehand, and the butler and staff went above and beyond to decorate the room beautifully. They even surprised us with a cake and wine and wished us a happy anniversary, which was incredibly touching. The room layout was so comfortable, allowing us to swim whenever we wanted and stargaze at night while chatting in the courtyard. The housekeeper who came to deliver fresh laundry would also tidy up a bit, which was a nice touch. I especially want to commend the service; the buggies were available on demand, and the butler was always responsive to our requests, even helping with food deliveries. We could communicate any needs we had at any time. The breakfast was delicious, and on a nice day, you could enjoy it with a stunning sea view. The hotel's sea fishing service was also excellent; they kept encouraging us, and we ended up with a great catch. It was truly a wonderful trip.

A very unremarkable stay, with almost no highlights to speak of. Since my girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary, the hotel had promised to give us a small lion plushie after prior communication. However, the butler who later added me on WeChat claimed to 'know nothing' about it and said it could only be purchased. It was only after further verification that the complimentary gift was confirmed. The room had an old-fashioned, bureaucratic feel. It wasn't small, but it felt empty and lacked any design elements. On the first day at breakfast, there was no staff to seat us. Although there were many empty tables, they weren't set with cutlery. After looking around, I still had to ask a server if they could help us find a seat. Many online reviews praised the beef noodle soup, but I'm afraid it's overrated. Beef noodle soup I've had at other luxury hotels used beef shank, but here they used beef brisket, which became very greasy after soaking in the broth.

Great stay with delicious food! The room was spacious and the hotel didn't feel old; the decor was tasteful, almost like a palace. We stayed for two days, and the executive lounge had different main courses every day. The butler service was excellent, very responsive to our requests. The tea and coffee were also very good.

Every stay at the Ritz is always comfortable. I still look for my familiar butler, Leo, who resolves issues quickly and is very thoughtful. The breakfast in the villa area is also delicious; our whole family loves it. The staff by the main pool are also excellent, proactively asking if we need towels – very observant. It's the best service I've experienced among the luxury hotels in Sanya. The kids didn't want to go home after playing! And this time, the lion toy was so cute! 🦁

It's not the overly enthusiastic, formulaic kind of politeness; it's genuine consideration for guests, a down-to-earth and reliable approach, incredibly prompt responses, and a real commitment to remembering everything you ask for. Communication with her was effortless. If I had any issues, she wouldn't make excuses; she'd genuinely help you find solutions. Her sense of propriety was just right – never intrusive, but always there when needed. The reason this stay was so excellent was entirely because of Mia. No fancy tricks or superficial routines, just genuine sincerity and attentiveness. It's rare and deeply appreciated. Thank you so much, Mia!
