King Fahd Fountain is located on the shore of the Red Sea. This landmark building can be seen from anywhere in Jeddah. The fountain is 312 meters high, the highest among fountains in the world, and the water jets into the sky at a speed of more than 350 kilometers per hour.
After dark, hundreds of lights in the fountain will light up, and the water will fall from the sky to form an arc. People will gather in groups at the Jeddah waterfront at night to enjoy the charming view of the fountain falling from the sky to the sea.
The fountain was gifted to Jeddah by King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (reigned 1982-2005). It was built between 1980 and 1983 and became a popular tourist attraction as soon as it was unveiled in 1985.
