King Fahad's Fountain

King Fahad's Fountain rises from the sea off the coast of Jeddah, serving as a highly recognizable landmark of the city. Its towering water column can be seen from many locations along the waterfront. The fountain draws seawater directly from the Red Sea, propelling the water column to a height of over 300m at a speed of over 350 km/h. The volume of water in the air can reach over 10 tons, making it a distinctive local feature. After nightfall, hundreds of spotlights turn on, and the falling water traces a huge arc under the lights, plunging from high above into the sea. Visitors often stop to gaze up at it from the Jeddah waterfront, and the illuminated water column at night is a must-see.
