I stayed at this property (Limehome Madrid San Lorenzo, room 202) from 18/06 to 23/06/2026. On the night of 22-23 June, while we were out, our room was broken into and cash and personal belongings (including a gold ring) were stolen. Access to the room is via a numeric code that only guests are supposed to know, which makes this especially concerning - it raises serious questions about the security of the property. We later found out that we were not the only ones affected: a total of 4 rooms were broken into that same night, all around the same time. This points to a clear, ongoing security failure at the property rather than an isolated incident. We reported the incident to staff the next morning, and ended up spending our last day in Madrid at the police station along with the other affected guests, filing a report for the break-in and theft. Despite this, when we requested a refund or any form of compensation, the property denied it, citing only the non-refundable rate of our booking. This response completely ignores the actual issue: multiple rooms were broken into on the same night, and the property has shown no willingness to take responsibility or even acknowledge the security failure. I would not recommend this property to anyone until they address the security of their rooms and how they handle situations like this. A safe stay should be the bare minimum, and unfortunately that was not the case here.
