We had a generally pleasant stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Nihombashi with a few points worth highlighting.
The main disappointment was the breakfast experience. On two mornings, when we went down for breakfast, the restaurant was already full. On the first morning, we waited about 10 minutes before being seated at around 9:30am. At 9:45am, the staff informed us that it was the last order, which was understandable. However, exactly at 10am, staff came over to inform us that restaurant is closed and began clearing everything around us quite hurriedly. The way it was handled gave a clear impression that we were being rushed out.
It would have been understandable if we had arrived late for breakfast ourselves. However, the restaurant being full was not within our control, and we had already waited to be seated. In such circumstances, I feel the hotel could have offered a small grace period of perhaps 10 minutes, rather than making guests feel rushed immediately at closing time.
On the positive side, the front desk and concierge staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The overall service was pleasant. The public bath was also a nice facility, and having two massage chairs was a welcome bonus after a long day.
The hotel's location is another strong point. It is very convenient, with sheltered access to the train stations and a mall directly opposite, making it easy to get around and find dining and shopping options. 7-11 and family mart nearby too.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I hope the hotel can review how breakfast capacity and closing procedures are handled. A little more flexibility for guests who have already waited because the restaurant was full would make the experience much better.
