Jiran Hostel Kota Kinabalu

I booked a 4-bed female dorm, and the room was clean and tidy. The beds were incredibly comfortable, especially the duvet and pillows, which were super soft. The hostel staff provided excellent service – very polite and welcoming. The common area had comfortable sofas, free biscuits, toast, and coffee. Both the showers and toilets were spotless. My roommates were also wonderful. I was so satisfied with my stay that I extended it for another five nights. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance!

Facilities: The toilets and showers are communal, mixed-gender, but there is a dedicated women's restroom. Cleanliness: Someone cleans thoroughly every day. Environment: It's located behind Gaya Street, about a five to six-minute walk to get there. The rooms have ventilation and air conditioning, while the common areas have fans and AC. There's also free cold and hot water, a refrigerator, and simple bread available for breakfast. Service: Check-in times are quite strict; Ctrip states 2:30 PM, but it's actually 3:00 PM.

The location is really good, right on Gaya Street. The hygiene is also pretty decent. Just a heads-up, keep a close eye on your wallet—my 100 MYR got stolen. Overall, it's still good. There are lots of local eateries nearby.

Pretty good. It was my first time staying in a mixed-gender dormitory, and everyone was very respectful of personal space.

The location is excellent, close to the beach and convenient for Gaya Street, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. However, the layout is a bit impractical; the toilet is too far from the 4-person room. Having to cross a public area to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night is really inconvenient. Everything else was acceptable.
