JW Marriott Hotel Harbin River North

I've always liked Marriott and haven't really encountered any major issues. The location is great, right by the river, and there are plenty of food options nearby. The views are also lovely. I highly recommend staying here.

Our first stop in Harbin was the Marriott, as we were driving ourselves. I chose it because I trust the brand, but this turned out to be the worst Marriott I've ever stayed at. No one greeted us when we pulled up to the entrance, and when I asked the bellhop for help with the luggage cart, he was completely unenthusiastic and even seemed annoyed that I didn't have much luggage. The lobby was as chaotic as a marketplace. Once in the room, there was a horrible smell. The delivery robots were completely insufficient; they said it would be at least a 30-minute wait for delivery to the room. Couldn't a hotel this size have more robots? My car even got scratched while parked at the entrance. I have a car wrap, so I didn't bother complaining to the hotel. And don't even get me started on the front desk service. The hotel itself is terrible, so where does their sense of superiority come from? We quickly checked out after just one night. The service was worse than what you'd get at a four-star hotel. The facilities are poorly maintained and outdated, even though the hotel hasn't been open for many years according to its description. It just looks rundown due to lack of proper maintenance. I will never stay here again.

Huge shout-out to the hotel's front desk manager! Their service was professional and incredibly thoughtful. Check-in was super quick, and they patiently answered all my questions. The room facilities were well-maintained; all the appliances and bathroom fixtures worked perfectly. The room itself was spotless and odor-free. Overall, the hotel is excellently managed with great attention to detail, which really helped me unwind after a long journey. Highly recommended!

I originally bought a pre-sale voucher, but couldn't book a slot on the day, and it turned out to be even cheaper to just book directly. The location isn't very convenient; it took over 20 minutes to get here by taxi from Harbin Station, and the nearest subway is more than 2 kilometers away, so taxis are the only option for getting around. The room itself was pretty standard, and they provided bottled water, though I didn't recognize the brand. Service, however, deserves criticism. When checking in, I specifically paid for a late check-out, and the front desk confirmed a 4 PM check-out. Yet, at 2:40 PM, they called to rush me out! That left a really bad impression!

Excellent, we'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. The night view was beautiful, and breakfast was delicious. The only downside is its location in Jiangbei, which is a bit far from the main attractions. Both the kids and the elderly loved it.

I rebooked the same room type, and Manager Fu gave me exceptional attention. They upgraded my room and provided complimentary breakfast. Many thanks! Indeed, the hotel's facilities and service are both excellent. When I called for items like a toilet seat cover, customer service promptly sent someone to my room, which was very efficient.

The view outside the window is beautiful. The location is a bit out of the way, far from the subway. Although it looks close to the Songhua River, there's no direct access, so getting to the riverside is quite a walk. For meals, you have to go about one or two kilometers to a residential area, which has tons of great restaurants. Taxis are super convenient; they pick you up instantly, and it's usually under ten yuan. The room was clean, but the soundproofing was just okay – I could hear kids jumping around next door and their mom scolding them. Breakfast was average, not much variety. Out of the three 5-star hotels I stayed at in Harbin, the Marriott had the least to offer for breakfast. The doormen and the cleaning staff were excellent. Giving a good review out of habit.

The room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, and the service was excellent. Everyone was very welcoming during check-in, and the cleaning staff were also lovely, asking if I needed anything. There were even some snacks! Last night, when I extended my stay, the front desk attendant was so kind and patient, and specially helped me with the registration, so definitely a thumbs up. Next time I'm in Harbin, I'll definitely choose this hotel again. The facilities were very clean, and it's super close to Hulin, which I really liked! 🥰
