Liangfengjiang National Forest Park(Nanning Arboretum)

I just discovered such a hidden gem in Nanning! I can't believe it! Liangfengjiang is so beautiful, how did I just find out about it! Recommended route: Gully Rainforest Walkway, Deer Hidden Walkway, Wetland Grassland, Lover's Tree, Forest Nature Classroom, and also the Music Square in the Wetland Park area, which is very relaxing! I went last weekend, and there were very few people. Many sections of the trail were almost empty, and it felt like I had the place to myself. Listening to the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves and the chirping of cicadas was incredibly soothing! But it was really hot, super hot! And there were lots of mosquitoes! Make sure to wear sunscreen and bring mosquito repellent! Accessible by bus: K7

I almost didn't come here. A local friend casually mentioned, "There's a forest park south of the city. Not many people go." That was all I needed to hear. Twenty minutes later, I was standing at the entrance of Guangxi’s very first national forest park — and I had the place almost to myself. I walked through the Gully Rainforest Walkway, found the ancient Lover‘s Tree, and sat by the wetland grassland listening to the wind moving through the leaves. No traffic. No announcements. Just birds, cicadas, and my own breathing. The real surprise? The Bodhi Tree — the only one of its kind in China, roots twisting together like a pair of lovers. Standing there, surrounded by 5,700 acres of forest with 88% tree cover, I felt something shift. The forest has this way of making your problems feel smaller. What to know if you go: Who it’s for: Walkers, photographers, families, or anyone who needs to escape the city. Getting there: 20-30 min drive from downtown. Bus K7 or 301 to the park stop. Best time: Late afternoon for golden light through the trees. Bring mosquito repellent — trust me on this. What to see: Rainforest walkway, wetland grassland, Lover‘s Tree, and the Bodhi Tree. What to know: Entry is 15 RMB. Open 8 AM – 5 PM. Wear comfortable shoes. Plan 3-4 hours. I came looking for a hidden gem. I left with a quiet hour in a forest that made me forget I was still in a city. #nanning #liangfengjiang #nationalforestpark #chinatravel #hiddengemschina #guangxitravel #forestbathing #natureescape #explorechina #wanderlust #travel2026
