Eastern & Oriental Hotel

Facing the sea with stunning views, the weather was clear on the day of check-in, and the blue sky, white clouds, and turquoise sea were beautiful. We stayed in the Victory Wing, and opening the door revealed the ocean – truly refreshing. It's perfect for taking photos, with beautiful scenery everywhere and every corner being picture-perfect. The Nanyang-style architecture makes it, in my opinion, the best hotel in Penang.

The staff at Hotel Dongjia were excellent! I was practically eating all day, and the room had a great selection of drinks, including a really nice bottle of red wine 🍷.

We stayed in the Heritage Wing! Many perks, the afternoon tea and happy hour were fantastic. We stayed for three days, and the afternoon tea offerings were different each day, truly excellent. Plus, the room service was very responsive to all our requests! Very good. Special shout-out to the cleaning staff who were enthusiastic and dedicated every day.

The hotel has a great location, and the international breakfast on the ground floor is very generous. The service was also excellent; they noticed we had tea-making cups and when we returned to the hotel in the afternoon, we found they had left two extra bottles of water and a bookmark. The attention to detail at this century-old hotel is truly impressive.

I really loved this hotel! They offer a lot of services like afternoon tea and happy hour, and they even hang a newspaper on your door in the morning. It's also conveniently located close to tourist attractions, perfect for a nice stroll. The pool is beautiful and the rooms are very spacious. Overall, a great stay! I'd definitely recommend it to friends.

This is the most beautiful hotel in Penang! It has over a hundred years of history. The rooms are very comfortable, and the balcony offers direct views of the Strait of Malacca. The breakfast is also very rich, and the hotel's pool is absolutely amazing. It's a fantastic hotel for a vacation~

The hotel is beautiful, and the buffet is just for casual eating. The pool view is great. However, the quality of the decor and facilities is mediocre; the door lock was broken, and the closet rod fell off when we took clothes out, which was a bit disappointing. We booked two rooms, and unsurprisingly, both were at the very end of the hallway. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but all in all, it was more about the idea of staying there than the actual experience.

Before we even got out of the car, the doorman was already there, taking our luggage from the trunk. He very warmly guided us to the front desk. The lady at the front desk who handled our check-in was also very nice and meticulously explained all our benefits. She even mentioned that the executive lounge closes at 7 PM and suggested we go have some food and drinks there first, while our luggage would be sent up to our room. The doorman also gave us a quick tour of the room, pointing out that we could see the sunset from the left side and the sunrise from the balcony on the right. He told us this room had the best view. The interior decor isn't old-fashioned either, and the bed is just the right firmness – very comfortable. Room service was also excellent. And the view? Needless to say, it's the best in George Town. Oh, and the steak at the restaurant was delicious!

Service: Very good, rooms were cleaned twice a day. Ambiance: It has a traditional Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style, and while it's not voice-activated smart, it's still very nice. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Breakfast: Two dining halls to choose from, and the food offered was quite good.
