Hotel Ambassador Zermatt

The suite was spacious and the environment was excellent. This was my favorite hotel on my European trip. You could even see a bit of the Matterhorn from the balcony.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the train station. Room 324 was a connecting room, and the soundproofing was a bit poor; I could hear conversations from next door. The bathroom was a bit small. Other than that, everything was great, and on a clear morning, I could even see the Matterhorn from the room.

The only good thing about this hotel was the room itself; the service was absolutely terrible. We checked out early on our second day to hike and left our luggage at the hotel. When we returned, we had some food and intended to eat it quickly in an area that wouldn't disturb the front desk staff, then leave. However, a man named Juan, who claimed to be the restaurant manager, told us we couldn't sit there, explaining that it's a place where food is sold, and even as guests, we weren't allowed to eat our own food there. We told him we had just checked out, but it made no difference. I asked if there was anywhere else we could go to quickly eat our food before leaving, but he said no. Although we were uncomfortable, we cooperated and left, planning to sit on a bench just outside the hotel. To our surprise, as soon as we sat down, he came out again and rudely demanded that we stand up and leave immediately. He was incredibly rude and completely lacked manners. This was our first time encountering such a rude hotel staff member in Switzerland, and the front desk staff clearly saw everything but did nothing. In fact, the front desk's attitude was generally mediocre, only smiling at European guests. This hotel exhibits racial discrimination and has rude staff; it completely shattered the good impression I had when I first booked. There are many other hotels in the area, and if you want to avoid a terrible experience with staff like Juan, I suggest you consider somewhere else. This is the only negative service review on my entire European trip!

You can spot the hotel from the shuttle train. The two-bedroom apartment was really spacious, and after a week in Switzerland, this is where we finally felt like we were on vacation. In the morning, heading to the restaurant, we even saw black-faced sheep wandering around! Breakfast was decent, nothing special but filling. The restaurant has a big screen, just like the Zermatt app, showing live feeds from several classic spots on the Matterhorn. It's worth checking out – if the weather's bad, you'll know not to bother going up the mountain and wasting your money.

The breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. The hotel is super close to the Zermatt train station, Coop supermarket, and the Gornergrat train station. The living room is huge, and the bathroom is also very spacious. You can see the Matterhorn directly from the balcony.

The resort has a brand new feel overall. It's super close to the train station, just a 5-minute walk, which makes getting to the Matterhorn really convenient. Plus, it's closer to the viewpoint than other hotels. The room had a very cozy vibe. However, I wouldn't stay here again, and here's why: 1) There's no hot water during peak shower times in the evening, so I had to wait until morning to shower, and I felt sticky and uncomfortable all night. 2) The Matterhorn view was obstructed by two trees, and I don't think rooms with obstructed views should be sold at the same price as those with an unobstructed view.

We booked a family suite for four people. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location is convenient, just a two to three-minute walk from the train station.

The service was excellent, easily the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at in Zermatt for the price. It's also very close to the train station, which is super convenient.
