Hotel New Mitoya

The hotel offers a wide selection for breakfast and provides a shuttle service. I highly recommend staying here; both breakfast and dinner are excellent. You really must try it!

Akiu Onsen is a historic hot spring in Japan. Hotel New Mitoya is a modern Japanese-style hotel with great design. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Dinner was a set course, and breakfast was a buffet. The garden and interior design are exquisite. There's a 500-year-old tree in the garden, and our triple room had a perfect view of it from the window. The outdoor onsen is private with a lovely view. There's a small shop selling local specialties. There's also a tiny art gallery with a few ceramic pieces. They offer a shuttle service from Sendai Station to the hotel.

The main advantage is its convenience; it's about a 30-minute bus ride from Sendai city center directly to the hotel entrance. The half-board plan included a breakfast buffet and a Kaiseki dinner served in a private room, which was nice. The room and food were pretty standard, nothing spectacular. The highlight is definitely the wide variety of hot springs, including different types of baths, a cold plunge pool, and a sauna. I'd say the quality of the hot springs themselves was average, and the clientele was predominantly older Japanese guests.

The kaiseki cuisine is plentiful, and the onsen (hot spring) has many pools. The women's bath is in the afternoon, while the men's bath is in the morning – it's worth experiencing! There's a local supermarket nearby with authentic food at reasonable prices, definitely worth buying from.

Finally soak in hot springs this is highly recommended There are three large hot springs super large and loan cut hot springs can finally be a family  bath although the place is not so big children will be bored d 

The staff were generally friendly and the environment was pleasant. The hot springs were diverse and extensive. However, the facilities after the hot springs were too limited and could be improved. The dinner dishes were appealing and more plentiful than expected. The staff were friendly. The welcome drinks could be improved. Overall, I would give it 75 points and would consider visiting again.
