Kaleici Old Town

Kareč Historic District, located in the heart of Antalya, Turkey, is known as "Mini Turkey" and boasts over 3,000 years of history. It has been ruled by various dynasties, including ancient Greece, Rome, Byzantium, and the Ottoman Empire, resulting in a rich cultural heritage.

The district is surrounded by Republic Street, Atatürk Street, and Kara Alioglu Park. The quiet alleyways in the north are the highlight of the area. Its iconic starting point is Hadrian's Gate, built around 130 AD, featuring three exquisitely carved marble arches. The surrounding ancient city walls still bear the marks of ancient Roman cart tracks. The Roman harbor, once a vital transportation route in the eastern Mediterranean, now houses yachts and fishing boats. A free elevator provides access to a panoramic viewpoint.

The district features a mix of red-roofed, white-walled Ottoman-style stone houses, as well as distinctive buildings such as the 17th-century Tekeli Mehmet Pasha Mosque and the pentagonal bell tower built in 1244.
