We had a delightful stay ar the temple. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. The food was delicious. And the staff was absolutely superb. We will recommend the temple to any friends planning a trip to Japan.

Dinner and breakfast experience were out of this world. Really really good and peculiar. Staff was exceptionally helpful. Only problem was that corridors were so cold you could see your breath, and going into toilet at night was a bit of a shock and also enjoying the temple areas was quite prohibitive.

This was one of the highlights of my entire trip to Japan! The walk from the bus stop was easy. My room was absolutely incredible -- best room I had in Japan! I absolutely loved the onsen onsite although I did not feel the outdoor pool was very clean. Indoor was immaculate though. I even used the sauna, it was nice. The food was soooo delicious! I felt like the bed was super comfortable and overall my entire stay was super serene. I woke up and went to the ceremony each morning. It was sooo nice.

The lady at the reception was wonderful; she explained everything to us in English and gave us a map of the temple. The temple is large and very beautiful; I even got lost in it a couple of times! The rooms are small, and the shared toilet is terribly cold. Staff lay out futons in the evening. The doors don't lock, meaning anyone can enter your room, but there is a safe. It was VERY cold in the temple, awfully cold at the end of November, about 3 degrees Celsius at night. The room had a powerful heater, so sleeping was comfortable, but going to the toilet or walking to the onsen in just a yukata was terribly chilly! Despite the large number of people in the temple, it was very quiet. The kaiseki dinner was delicious and filling, and it was vegetarian. I also enjoyed the breakfast. The onsen was excellent, with both indoor and outdoor baths, and there was also a sauna.

Definitely interesting experience. Partly tourist tradition, partly religious. As a new, atypical experience in Japan, the meal ritual and the vegetarian cuisine itself were interesting. Participation in the morning Buddhist prayer was valuable. Comfortable nice leather slippers. Saving hot springs on a rainy day. The strict end of the day time was inconvenient for us: the front door closed at 9 pm, and we were not allowed to linger during our walk. Quiet time from 9 p.m.Baths close at 8 and 9 pm. Thanks for the experience!🙏

The monastery was really nice. The room was big and with a balcony . Meals were good, lots of small dishes, tasty food. Onsens were good, there are 2 different options. I had a great experience.

Buy some food, you'll leave supper and breakfast hungry. Those who write that food is great - well, try normal kaiseki. Location is great, close to everything.

I honestly can't recommend this place more than enough. From friendly staff, nice amenities, really great views, and a sauna and an onsen. I can't recommend this place more than enough. 10 stars.
