Sangzhu Staycation Kangzhu Luxury Residence ( Dukezong Ancient City, Shangri-La)

Located within Dukezong Ancient City, very close to the East Gate, making it convenient for exploring and dining. The hotel courtyard is very picturesque, perfect for photos in the morning and evening when there are fewer people. The rooms are equipped with floor heating, a humidifier, and an oxygen concentrator, sufficient for staying warm and getting oxygen at night. They even thoughtfully provide a makeup mirror and face masks. The only downside is that the bathroom only has a curtain partition, lacking a wet/dry separation. Afternoon tea and goodnight milk are provided, and the yak hotpot dinner has a great ambiance. The butler service offers complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off. Overall, it offers great value for money at this price point.

The hotel I was most satisfied with during this trip to Shangri-La. Located right at the entrance of Dukezong Ancient Town, making it super convenient to explore the ancient town. It’s a Tibetan-style courtyard converted from an old chieftain's residence. It lacks the feel of a cookie-cutter guesthouse; instead, you can experience ******* cultural details everywhere. The check-in experience was fantastic. The room features underfloor heating and a fireplace, making it extremely cozy to stay indoors on a high-altitude night. You can enjoy specialty highland barley coffee at the courtyard coffee bar, and even try on ******* costumes—it's a great spot for taking photos. If you want an immersive ******* cultural experience in Shangri-La, this place is definitely worth considering.

Convenient location, just a short walk inside the ancient town's entrance. The decor has a strong ******* vibe, featuring wooden doors and Tibetan-style hanging paintings. The afternoon tea also includes ******* snacks. Just watch your step for the door thresholds in the room.

A very satisfying stay. Strong ethnic characteristics, well-equipped rooms, and warm, attentive service. The breakfast was diverse and unique. A peaceful and relaxing experience. It's extremely convenient for visiting the prayer wheels and other attractions—at most a five-minute walk. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, and it's super convenient for enjoying the night view and square performances.

Beautiful Tibetan-style architecture! It was recommended to me by a local, and it's so stunning and unique that many people actually come here just to take photos. But personally, I really recommend staying here—not only is the location fantastic and the interior design distinctive, but you also get to enjoy an exclusive photo-taking experience that others don't get!

We chose LUX* hotels all the way from Shangri-La to Benzilan on this trip, and staying at the LUX* Tea Horse Road Benzilan was an absolute delight! The location is superb, and the design beautifully incorporates local culture, creating an elegant and cozy space. The staff are warm and enthusiastic, eagerly sharing local travel tips with us. We also went for a forest hike in the nearby Niding Village. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the food quality was spot-on. The lattes, crafted by the friendly female staff, had rich layers of flavor. Overall, it was a deeply relaxing, understated luxury experience far away from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended!
