Patina Osaka

This is one of three top-tier hotels opened in Osaka for the 2025 World Expo, and it's a sister brand to Capella Hotels. It's the only Patina Hotel outside of the Maldives, and it's absolutely fantastic.

I originally only booked two nights, but after checking in, I found it exceeded my expectations so much that I immediately booked an additional night. I've already raved about Patina in my previous review, so I won't repeat myself. I especially want to thank all the staff for their warm service and highly meticulous and responsible work attitude. A special shout-out to Eden Kim at the front desk for handling my check-in! 👍 I believe I will choose Patina Osaka again in the future! Additionally: There are many hotel merchandise items in the first-floor restaurant. The hotel's yoga mats and umbrellas are beautiful. It's the first time I've ever stayed at a hotel and been so impressed by an umbrella 🌂 that I bought it as a souvenir! 😂😂

I absolutely love this hotel! It's a newly opened hotel, and the staff are incredibly enthusiastic. They allowed us to check in early and even arranged for our two rooms to be next to each other, which was a very thoughtful touch. The room tour was very detailed, and the room design blends modern aesthetics with Japanese elements – the tatami by the window is a fantastic feature. The hotel is located north of Osaka Castle. If you choose an Osaka Castle view room, you can directly see the castle, with the main keep clearly visible and directly facing you. We stayed on the 7th floor this time, and it felt like we had a perfect eye-level view. To the west of the hotel are the Osaka Museum of History and Naniwa Palace Site Park. There's also a subway station nearby, and a line of taxis waiting at the entrance, making getting around very convenient. To reach the rooms, you need to go to the 20th-floor lobby first, then transfer to another elevator to go down to your room (there's also a slightly more convenient route through the 4th-floor gym). On the first floor of the hotel, there's a popular patisserie that attracts many local women. The hotel breakfast is a combination of buffet and à la carte options. The à la carte menu includes excellent Chinese, Western, and Japanese specialties. There are always several taxis waiting at the hotel entrance, so it's very convenient if you need to take a cab.

The hotel staff were very welcoming. The gym and pool had dedicated attendants, and you could rent swimsuits. The pool was heated, and they provided towels, bathrobes, iced lemonade, mineral water, and a swimsuit dryer. Basically, you could just go down in slippers with your room card to enjoy it. The pool area also had a sauna and a cold plunge pool. The hotel's breakfast selection was rich, offering Western pastries, Chinese dim sum, and various Chinese porridges, all of which tasted quite good. The hotel also offered electric bicycle rentals, perfect for cycling to Osaka Castle. The JR station was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. The tea in the room was also delicious, and the teapot selection showed good taste, allowing you to enjoy tea and the views of Osaka Castle from your room. The hotel bathrobes were very comfortable, and even the hairdryer was a Dyson. The room key was a wooden hotel logo card attached to a wristband. It's fine if you're not going far, but I personally prefer a card-style room key that can fit in my wallet.

The views from the room and the high-rise window are excellent, offering a distant view of Osaka Castle, which is delightful whether it's day or evening. The room design is very tasteful and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional, providing thoughtful and attentive service. I tried both the breakfast and the spa. The breakfast was exquisite and plentiful, with a wide variety of options. However, for a high-end hotel, the spa left something to be desired; both the massage therapist and the environment were below expectations. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with not too many tourists!

The hotel is located between Shichome and Morinomiya, about a 10-minute walk to both subway stations. You can take a bus to Umeda, and it's very close to Osaka Castle. Dining options nearby are limited, with a few cafes and sushi restaurants that all close after 10 PM. There are no convenience stores in the immediate vicinity; the closest ones are near the subway stations. However, there are plenty of vending machines in Japan, so getting water is easy. There's no airport shuttle service, and I didn't encounter any staff who spoke Chinese. Nevertheless, the check-in process was very smooth. The breakfast was quite extensive, primarily Western-style with some Chinese dim sum. It's semi-buffet; drinks and some dishes need to be ordered using the QR code on the table, which brings up a Chinese menu. The restaurant environment is very pleasant. There seemed to be a teppanyaki section, but I didn't try it.

Location: Just a few minutes walk from the subway, right across from the castle – perfect for tourists looking to sightsee. Room: The layout was incredibly comfortable, and the kids loved it. Breakfast: The selection was average, and service was a bit slow. Facilities: The pool staff were excellent, and the pool itself was very clean.
