Pamukkale

Pamukkale is located 19 kilometers north of Denizli, Turkey. In Turkish, Pamuk means cotton and Kale means castle, so Pamukkale is called Pamukkale. This is a well-known hot spring resort. There are not only natural hot springs for thousands of years, but also these strange cotton-like hills, which are actually hard limestone. In 1988 Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis on top of it were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The unique stepped "cotton" hill Pamukkale has a very unique landscape. The hot spring flows down from the top of the cave, scouring the hillside into a stepped shape, and the spring water at the platform accumulates into small ponds. Looking down from the top, the square hot spring platform is like a A mirror reflects the blue sky and white clouds. Looking up from the bottom, it looks like a volcano that has just erupted, with white lava covering the entire hillside, which is quite spectacular. The unique scenery has attracted many photographers from all over the world. The hot spring resort where Cleopatra has soaked is the white Pamukkale with mountains and water. It has been a spa resort since the Greek era. It is said that Cleopatra once also soaked in hot springs here. The water temperature here remains between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius all year round, and the pH of the water is about 6. According to scientific identification, spring water is rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium, and can also be drunk directly. There is an endless stream of tourists who come to the hot springs, especially some European and American tourists who often come to the hot springs with their families. Tourists usually enter from the north gate of the scenic spot, and can see relics such as the Chengbei Cemetery (more than 1,000 tombs), the Beida Bathroom (the core building of the ancient city) and the Domitian Arch. A church and water temple can be seen across the market, and near the south gate are the ruins of the Temple of the Sun and an amphitheatre. You can first visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, the ancient city south down the hillside is Pamukkale. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset view of Pamukkale. The more beautiful area of Pamukkale is on the way up from the entrance. Generally, there will be more and more people in the morning, and then gradually decrease in the evening, so if you arrive in the afternoon, you can go later and enjoy the sunset. The white rock face is tinted by the sunlight, while the water waves in the rock face record the strange colors of the sky.
