Overall, a good stay for the price, with a great location in the center.
What we loved most was the hotel manager — very responsive, kind, and always available. He also prepared breakfast for us, which was simple but really cozy and delicious. We especially loved the Chinese pastries with green onion and egg — such a nice local touch.
The room itself was decent for the price, and the location made it very convenient to explore the area.
There were a couple of downsides. We noticed some mold in certain places, which could definitely be improved. Also, there was an unpleasant situation with the airport transfer on our first day. The hotel offers it for free, and the owner suggested we take a taxi and they would cover the cost. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with the driver — he started shouting, demanded almost double the agreed price, and even stopped the car at night in the middle of the road. It was quite stressful after a long flight, and we were close to calling the police, but thankfully it was resolved in the end.
I don’t think this was the hotel’s fault — more an issue with unreliable taxi service — but it did affect the first impression. I would recommend using Didi instead to avoid situations like this.
Despite that, the stay was overall positive thanks to the manager’s care and the great location.
